Dream June 1, 2014

Ya.... so happy someone else has joined!!!! Our Disney fix will be on three weeks.... can't wait. Staying at animal kingdom then old key west then on the way home one night in Disney's Hilton Head.... of course part of me wishes it was longer before we go.... heck I don't even have summer clothes out yet!!!!

NO WAY!!!! We will also be at WDW in 3 weeks ... we are arriving on Mon, May 27 and leaving Sat June 1. We are bringing our camper "Big Lucy" and staying at the Fort! Maybe we can get together!

This ship is getting fuller , thought we might be getting it all to ourselves and then I read this and find out that 3 other families will be on board too :) count us in : we are me(40) dwtb(42) dd1 (9 or is she 19 I sometimes wonder) dd2 (2)

Welcome, katenbeth. Glad you are joining us. Isn't it funny that when you're younger you want to be older and then when you're older you want to be younger!?!

.... and we have another 9 yr old! Although, at this age, girls have cooties (according to my soon to be 9 yr old) !!!

It sure is, I keep telling her to make the most of being young ( sure my parents told me the same when I was young) they truly are the best years of our lives.

LauraDar, what are cooties ? (We are English)

Oh, it is an expression similar to "girls/boys are icky" ! Seriously though, my son is very friendly and enjoys playing with everyone!

Thank you lauraDar for your explanation. We have a similar term over here which is THE LURG.

Hi. This will be my second cruise on the Dream. The first one (March, 2012, 5-night) was filled, but the ship didn't seem over-crowded. Wait until you see it! During the 2012 cruise, we sailed next to the Magic (or Wonder, if forget which) for a little while, and it seemed like we were next to a rowboat! I thought the Magic and Wonder were big, but the Dream is huge.
That said, I tend to be an "early riser" and get to things when they open, so didn't experience huge waits in line. The Aquaduck gets crowded, so you may wish to plan and get there early.
Also, the "artwork detective" activity is popular, so you may want to wait until later on in the cruise to try that out, or do it early or late in the day.
The Walt Disney Theater has a balcony that I enjoyed; it provided a great view of the stage, and there were fewer children up there. Being a Disney freak (as are others on this thread, I see :cloud9:), I like kids, but I've got limits for fidgeting!
Hope this answers the questions above about crowds on board.

We were on the fantasy last summer. It never felt overcrowded either and they were full then also.

This cruise my family has decided we aren't going to go to any of the evening dinners. I wonder if there is a way to tell disney so that the waiters aren't waiting for our family and we never show. There are various reasons we have decided this and none of them are because the dinners aren't awesome fun.

Ooooh, better add that to my "to do" list for the weekend, can you request a specific loop when you do the online check in ? I actually thought about calling to confirm everything and request the loop. Do you know which loop you will be in ?

We requested peninsula drive and second floor. We don't know where we will be. Super excited and even more exciting because the kids haven't a clue.

Well as soon as the kids get up we will be on our way to old key west... loved AKV Kadani but ready for the next half of the journey... then next summer we will cruise... by the way if anyone is in disney any time soon. You have got to see the new DVC model rooms for the Floridian. Just amazing with tv's in the bathroom mirrors...

Oh my! I remember when I was younger (much younger) I knew a lady who would always get fully dressed before turning on the TV because she believed that the actors could see her! She even accused Walter Cronkite of trying to see up her dress! lol. I wonder what she would think of this!
