Dream July 27, 2012 5 night

Ok, I'll bite. We're first timers too but I did some poking around on what other groups have done and would like to suggest the following

:wave2:Embarkation Day Cruise Meet in Vista Cafe on Deck 4 at 3pm.:wave2:

From what I've read this should have us done by time for the muster drill and then sailaway!!

My hubby was late to check us in so our check in time is not until 2:30 so I'm not sure if we'll make it. :-(

@ jacquieone - I started from the beginning of this thread, and read your news. I am so very sorry for your loss. I have said a special prayer you and your baby.

@mselvey - I didn't see - did you post your cabin number?

Finally got the right cartridges for my printer, so I'm back on track for FE's. Processing is just slooooow. :badpc: Won't be done with these until tomorrow night at the earliest... I'm starting to worry about the packing, and getting all the miscellaneous stuff together.:worried: But, I'm glad that I have at least 2 full days before we leave. Can't wait!

Julie

If I have this right we have four 9-10 yr old girls and one 9 yr old boy. They are going to have so much fun! Lucky boy too! Lol!!
Me(michelle)- daughter Chloe (will be 10 on Aug 19th), cabin 8058
Jprod30 (Julie)- daughter Lauren, cabin 6114
Galatea- 9 yr old boy
Peag8rs (Bonnie)- 10 yr old daughter, cabin 8677
Lakdarmom- 10 yr old daughter

I went in my first cruise when I was around 10 and I remained pen pals w/ my friend from the ship for almost 10 yrs. This cruise actually reminded me of that friendship and I've tracked her down via Facebook. Gotta love the Internet!! :-)

I'm sure they'll meet in the kid club but we should try to introduce them outside that. We're first timers so we're open for suggestions.

Can't wait!!!! I already have vacation brain and was having a tough time concentrating at work today.

@ Galatea - My daughter likes (I mean, REALLY LIKES) boys. She has since she was 4. Maybe your nephew and my daughter can hang out. She is very excited, and wanted to know if she could pack her stuff yesterday. Unfortunately, her idea of packing is stuffing as much unnecessary stuff as she can in a bag, and forgetting everything she really needs. So, I'll be doing her packing for her.

I got all my errands done this afternoon to complete my FE gifts, but just realized I purchased the wrong cartridges for my printer. So, I'll have to go out one more time later today.

So much to do, so little time...

Julie
My daughter is the same way!! If I left packing up to her she would maybe have a couple of articles of clothes and then every monster high doll, stuffed animal and other unnecessary thing she can fit in a suitcase! Lol!

We don't have a nine year old in our party, I feel left out lol! We have 5 adults and 1 5 month old. Even though we aren't doing FE, I'd still like to drop in on the party! We are in Alabama now, halfway to wdw from Oklahoma, gonna do some parking before cruising!

I want to ship a box ahead of the cruise. so it's there when we arrive, and so we don't have to carry some more bulky stuff. What address would I send it to? I saw one address for Orlando, but it seems weird to ship there since we aren't boarding in Orlando like other Disney ships. Anyone know the Disney Dream address?

Your help is appreciated!:confused3

Julie --

I suggest that you call DCL and ask them if there's an address in Port Canaveral. Their headquarters are in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando) which is quite a distance away. If you're shipping by UPS, perhaps they could hold it at one of their locations in Cape Canaveral.

Btw - This is the address for the closest US Post Office:
800-ASK-USPS (800-275-8777)
8700 ASTRONAUT BLVD
CAPE CANAVERAL, FL 32920-9998

Thank you so much, jprod30. :)

I have a pretty large box of FE stuff, as well. I think I am going to try and check it. We are driving over from Tampa, so we aren't going to be shipping anything. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I was looking at a fellow Dis'ers slide show of the Dream today, eeeee!!

My daughter is excited to meet all of your kids. (My husband and I look forward to meeting ALL of you -- with or without children!)
We'll plan on meeting at the Vista Cafe at 3:00.

She and her little brother loved the Oceaneer Club/Lab last time.
He can't wait to go back to "Andy's Room" from Toy story, but she's way past that and will like having someone her age to hang out with.

We've started packing, but now we need to get serious with our checklist.
3 more days!

Here's what I found regarding shipping, but I would still call DCL:

***I deleted post, as updated shipping info, per DCL is below. Thanks, jprod30*** :)

@ jacquieone- Thanks for looking into this. As you suggested, I called DCL to be sure. I spoke with 2 different Disney Cruise Line customer service representatives to be certain on where to ship ahead a box for a cruise from Port Canaveral.

The correct address is:

DCL Warehouse
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, Florida 32832

But, if any of you wish to ship a box ahead, don't send anything to the Port Canaveral address listed in the prior post, since it will NOT be delivered to your stateroom. I found out also that you CANNOT ship any type of food or beverage items at all. If the box contains food or drink of any kind, the box will be refused by DCL. And, any boxes delivered ahead of time must arrive no later than the date before the cruise in order to be delivered to your stateroom.

I've got a box to pack! ;)

I had previously read that the maximum box size was 12"x12"x12" cube so I aborted my ship a box plan. Did DCL say anything about box size limits when you called? I suppose it doesn't matter for me since it would be cost prohibitive for me to overnight a box across the country at this point...

Our flight leaves in less than 48 hours (we're flying in a day early since we have so much travel time)!!! So excited!!!! OMG so much to pack still....can't focus on work at all today.

i've reading and see there are lots of 10 year olds!! We have a 10 year old girl, as well as girls age 13 (as of today!!) and 4 (her bday was last week!!), and a boy 14. Also cruising with my parents :)

i would have loved loved LOVED to have done the FE!! just reading about that and how fun is that! my 4 yr old especially would have been over the moon about that. are there any other littles her age? My 10, 13 and 14 year olds can hang out together but it would be fun for her to meet a friend or two.

we are in cabins 6640 & 6638. i did get little door signs and magnets to decorate.

despite packing and planning for weeks now (we booked mid june) i am nowhere NEAR ready. this will be the 2nd disney cruise for myself, my husband and our 10 and 4 yr olds. the baby wasn't even one last time lol. we went with my parents then too-our older kids were away at camp. so excited to have the whole family for this one.

katie & jeff
connor-14, devin-13, ainslee-10 and leighton-4

I have a 3yr old DD (Caitlyn). She regularly plays with 4yr olds at her preschool so hopefully they can hit it off :goodvibes

@ katellynne - My daughter, Lauren, is 9, and will be 10 in December. I bet our girls will be fast friends. We're in cabin 6114. Lauren can't wait to meet all of her new friends!!

Julie

@ katellynne My daughter Katy is 10 and son Ethan is 4. We're in cabin 8677.

We were on the Dream last March and are very excited to be going again!

Looking forward to meeting you! pirate:

:listen: I'm sending my package in a few minutes, and realized one small, BUT IMPORTANT, correction needs to be made for the address for shipping ahead a package. The first two numbers of the zip code were transposed in the prior post.
