Dream July 27, 2012 5 night

Thank you so much for including us in the Meet and Greet:yay:. I will post our cabin number, and hopefully my 9 year old can participate in the FE and receive some fun surprises, and provide some fun surprises as well. I'm not as concerned with the adult gifts, so if anyone doesn't have extra, no worries at all. I just want the cruise to be very special for my daughter :cutie:

My name is Julie Rodriguez. My husband is Frank, and our 9 year old daughter is Lauren. This is our VERY FIRST Disney Cruise, and my daughter's very first cruise, ever, so we are really looking forward to all the fun.:hyper:

Where and when will the meet and greet be taking place? Do we need to bring anything other than items to put in everyone's FE's?

Julie

Our cabin number is 6114.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you.

Julie, Frank, and Lauren

I only found this website last week. Has a meet and greet already been planned? Is it to late to "sign up"? Also, I just read about the fish extenders, and how families exchange little gifts. Is it too late to sign up for that as well? My 9 year old daughter would love to participate. I hope we can participate - if someone who is in the group knows answers to these questions, please let me know. Thank you!

I have a 9 yr old daughter too & this is our 1sy cruise as well. Will she be going to the kids club at all?

My oldest DD turned 10 a few months ago. So we had the same concerns. From what I have read, when they board they can check out both the Lab and the Edge to see which one fits best. I have read that they will sometimes allow a 10 year old into Edge. The downside seems to be that once they choose they have to stick with one club and not go between the two clubs. I am encouraging my DD to do the activities in the Oceaneer's Club and Lab with her younger sister. I have read the lab activities are good for the older set. I am certain that she won't be interested in dressing up like a princess at story time like we saw on the planning DVD. I am just hoping there are some good lab activities planned for the timeframe we have our Palo reservations. I have spoken to other parents who were concerned before boarding that their kids would resist going to the clubs at all and by the end of the cruise they had to ask the kids to come out to spend some time with the family. :)
Yeah!! My daughter will be so excited that there's another girl her age on board! We live on the west coast of FL. I don't remember our room #, but I know we're on deck 8 and I think we have a balcony? We'll definitely have to meet up!

Has a meet & greet day, time & location been decided? I saw talk of it, but nothing definite. Not sure if we'll definitely make it or not as I have no idea what we'll do once we get on board but I'd like to try.
5 more days!!!! I am SO excited!!!!!

Mselvey - My daughter is 9 years old. She turns 10 in December. She is excited to know about your daughter coming on the Disney cruise. She plans to participate in the Kids Club activities. She, too, will likely not be interested in dressing up like a princess, and would more likely be interested in the lab activities. Maybe the girls can participate together!

In the meantime, since I am a Disney cruise newbie, and have decided to at least try participating in the group's FE activities, I've got lots of work to do before Friday! Yikes

You would think after waiting and planning for all of these months, that I would be completely ready to leave. Uh.... no. I've been done with my FE stuff for some time but the laundry and pre-packing-piles have only just begun to form. I have my own packing list but I am also reviewing this exhaustive list from DisneyFamily.com to make sure that I'm not forgetting something. It might remind you of something you need also.

My daughter will be 10 in August! Yeah! The girls will have so much fun! I started packing yesterday and I thought I was pretty prepared but now I am starting to stress out!! 4 more days!!

jprod30, I had enough to include your family in our FE!!!

I am done with our gifts, woohoo!!! I can't wait until you all receive them. My DH and I are busy packing and getting last minute supplies for the cruise, can't waiti!!

As far as meet and greet, as I said before, we are new to the ship, so if a veteran can think of a good place/time, that would be great. I know DH and I will be doing some of the tours when we get on, so we will try our best to meet up, if it is the first day.

Hope to see ya all real soon!!.

Yay! Glad to hear it! We can't wait to meet everyone.

Although I am into this later in the game, I've already come up with my plan, and hope to finish my gifts by the end of today :hyper:

And then, I will pack!

Julie

Hi everyone!

We will also be on this cruise and are very excited. My daughter Katy is 10 and son Ethan is 4. This will be our fifth Disney cruise! My DH and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on this trip.

I know I'm posting this very late and you've already planned your FE gifts. We'd like to get together with you when you know a time/place for a meet and greet. We're in cabin 8677. I know that our kids have a wonderful time when they get to know other kids their age.

Orlando, FL

Ok, I'll bite. We're first timers too but I did some poking around on what other groups have done and would like to suggest the following

:wave2:Embarkation Day Cruise Meet in Vista Cafe on Deck 4 at 3pm.:wave2:

From what I've read this should have us done by time for the muster drill and then sailaway!!

Bonnie - I bet our daughters would have a great time together! Lauren is looking forward to making new friends, and having lots of fun.

I will see what we can do about getting some FE treats for your kids, and a family gift for you, too.

hehehe..the J dominate!! Seem like we have quite a few family cruising with Disney for the first time. Same with my family!! So exciting!!

@jprod: My nephew is 9, if she doesn't' think boy is yucky (or they pass that by that age? no clue lol :hyper:) we can introduce all of them. Llucky for over buying some stuff, so FE is not a problem :)

@Pharmama: Thank you for biting the bullet and suggest a time AND place. My family boarding time is 1:30pm, hopefully we won't be too late for the meet.

I just started packing, rather stuffing everything in a suitcase. My spare bedroom's bed is similar to Cctimmom's dinning table on a smaller scale since it's only 2 people. LOL very funny.

Less then 5 days!

~Galatea/Julia --adding two more cabin to FE. This going to so much fun!

@ Galatea - My daughter likes (I mean, REALLY LIKES) boys. She has since she was 4. Maybe your nephew and my daughter can hang out. She is very excited, and wanted to know if she could pack her stuff yesterday. Unfortunately, her idea of packing is stuffing as much unnecessary stuff as she can in a bag, and forgetting everything she really needs. So, I'll be doing her packing for her.

I got all my errands done this afternoon to complete my FE gifts, but just realized I purchased the wrong cartridges for my printer. So, I'll have to go out one more time later today.

So much to do, so little time...

Julie

@Jprod: That sound wonderful. My SIL also on board and i think would be neat idea for the kids to hangout. That leave all the adults to do 'adult things' or just relax. 3pm at Vista Cafe..be there or be square! *nods*

Now the task is to finish packing and how to tempt my 13yrs old nephew into thinking club is a cool thing and not a blah thing ;)

On a side note: Can you or at least try to change excursion time? Our family booked one on Nassau, now the time isn't bad. Just wondering if it all possible to change time? Granted we are 8 in the group that might be just way too many to accommodate. Don't you guys think so?

Pharmama, meet & greet time and location sounds good!! We will try our best to be there!!! Thanks for picking a time & location. :).

Good luck packing, everyone!!! Two last minute things we are packing: candy for the movies on board & a cheap air freshener for our cabin. :)

Galatea: You can try hopping on line to change the excursions. I ended up deleting one of ours since my daughter decided she might like to stay on the boat and explore while everyone else is at CC.

You can check to see if there are available times, and make changes on the Disney Cruise website (under planning center, I believe).
