Dream July 19, 2011 - 5 Night Bahamas!

Happy New Year!!!! Where is everyone - this is our year! Can't wait to hear reports from people that get to be on the Dream before us. What are you most curious about?
DS is curious about how long the lines will be for Aqua Duck...
I'm curious about about the shopping - hope there's more than on the Magic or Wonder...
DH is curious about the ice cream - will the soft serve station still be there...

Just wanting to hear back from our travel agent to finalize the plans, but we're in for this cruise and super excited!!

We did the double dip on the Wonder last summer and had a fantastic time and CANNOT wait to get on the DREAM!

We are IN for the FE! It was SO SO fun last time. The girls were so excited to see little gifts each day, they lit up when we got to our room!

Can't wait to get to know you all better!

Happy New Year all!

Rang in the New Year with the family on RCCL's Voyager of the Seas. First trip for the kids on RCCL. They enjoyed it a lot, we rarely saw them except at dinner and as lumps in the beds in the morning. They did leave a few constructive comments on how to make the teen program better based on their experiences on DCL. Now, they/we are turning our attention to July and the Dream. We can't wait!

It's our first cruise ever! :cool1: I feel like I have spent HOURS on the web sites in the past 10 days, and I am very happy to find a place to meet fellow cruisers. My name is Janet (43). I will be traveling with my DH (Bob - 42), my DD (Sydni - 3) and my Darling Mother (DM?? Sherrie - 65). We will be in adjoining cabins on deck 6. Will update with cabin numbers when i get them.

I have noticed a lot of tweens and teens sailing with us. Are there any families with preschoolers? Any advice any one can give about cruising with a 3 yr old princess:

We would also like to be included in the FE group!

Happy New Year, Everyone!

My daughter is 3, and will be turning 4 while we are on CC for the 2nd time. This will be our first ever cruise and I have been doing all the research I can about what to bring and what not. Cant wait till the MV of the Dream so we all know what to expect. Also very interested in doing FE but not sure how it all works :confused3

Well, as far as I can tell, it is a hanging bag or container that "extends" the fish hook outside the stateroom. Seems it can be just about anything that is 8" wide and 1-4 feet long. Fellow cruisers that sign up agree to give little secret gifts to those participating. Kind of like Secret Santas on the high seas. Gifts seem to range from candy and stickers to picture frames and small personalized gifts.

What a great place to celebrate a birthday! My mom will have just celebrated hers on the 18th... but I would like to plan a little special something for her while on the cruise.

Hi all! Just checking in. It's been awhile. We are starting to make some more of our travel plans. We are going to stay at the Bay Lake Towers for 5 days before the cruise. Another family will be joining us at WDW and on the Dream. Now we have to figure out where we want to eat at WDW since we can make ressies 180 days out. Just have to figure out airfare and ground transportation.

The ship looks beautiful. We can't wait to get on it!

I haven't been paying much attention to what's been going on recently with the Dream, I knew the maiden voyage was soon, but I wasn't on it so I hadn't been thinking about it.... So, I couldn't believe it yesterday when I checked my phone for texts after work - I got a text from a previous boss who told me he was boarding the Dream yesterday. Haven't worked for him in about 5 years, but he's a great guy and over the years we've sent each other pictures of our families every time we're at Disney to make the other jealous. Apparently the Dream is out right now with Cast Members and their families. His daughter in law does marketing for the Dream and Disney decided to do a cruise for Cast Members. I honestly thought he was teasing me. It worked though :thumbsup2- I'm very jealous. How many days till we sail?????

Too many days till we sail, but I have to say I am eagerly searching these pages for tips and insights. There is sooo much for a first time cruiser to learn!

we will also be staying at BLT before the cruise! We LOVE BLT!!!!! We also have another family coming down, but i don't know where they will be staying (not DVC members) and it is their first cruise...I am so excited for them too! We have a 19 yr. old son who is bringing a friend to WDW only and already asking where we are eating in WDW (we have annual passes, he is used to us discussing reservations for dinners) and we told him, you are going on a cruise (this is our 8th Disney cruise), we don't need HUGE dinners and buffets. His one request was LeCellier cheese soup! Think we'll skip Cape May this year. We are excited to be able to take him to PALO, and our friends. I am constantly searching for pictures of the Dream....so exciting!

Does anyone know on the 5 night cruise if there will be a formal night? My family and I have been on a 4 night cruise and there was a semi-formal night on it.

Happy New Year everyone. I must admit that I've been quiet for quite a while in this forum. Just went back to work full-time this fall and have barely had time to breathe! I have been checking in to read the posts occasionally though. :) Anyway, this is our second Disney cruise and last time my kids made some online friends before we set sail. I have two daughters, currently 7th and 5th graders, ages 13 and 11 when we sail. They are interested in emailing/texting/facebooking to get to know others their age. If anyone has kids who'd like to get in touch, PM me and I'll give you their email addresses.

We did the fish extender last cruise and really enjoyed it. It is quite time consuming though to go around distributing the gifts. We are still considering whether nor not to participate. We would definitely enjoy a meet and greet with all our fellow DISers though!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi everyone! Is there an updated list with everyone yet? Just starting to think about FE gifts and trying to plan early so I'm not so crazy last minute!

I haven't seen an updated list, and I expect its still early days. But I have been browsing through the thread and it looks like so far there are 32-34 cabins.

About 40 adult women.
About 30 adult men.
26 DS: (5 0-5yrs)-(8 6-11yrs)-(10 12-14 yrs)-(3 16-18 yrs)
21 DD: (2 0-5yrs)-(9 6-11yrs)-(5 12-14 yrs)-(5 16-18 yrs)

Again, This is just from glancing through the lists and I could very well have missed someone. It helps when planning though!

We are also staying at WDW for 5 nights prior to the cruise. We will be staying at AKL Kidani village. The 180 mark is fast approaching, ready to call for dining selections!!

I believe someone was keeping an FE list, be we should be getting it updated so folks can start planning.

Littlebigdog - there will be a formal night but everyone defines formal attire a bit differently. Last summer on our double dip I didn't see any men in a tux.

Can we still be added to the FE LIST? Thanks! :)
DW Tina, DH Kevin, DD Jordyn 11, DS Kian 9, DS Lincoln 5
Deck 6
The kids really enjoy doing this. My DS Kian will be turning 10 on this Cruise and is very excited to be on the Dream.
Thanks,
Tina (Crazy4DisneyWI)

noahsmom, We will be staying at AKL Kidani Village the 5 days prior to the cruise as well. Looking forward to having lots of fun. Go Badgers!

My daughter is interested in getting to know some of the other teen girls going on the cruise before July. She keeps in contact with others she has met in the past. What a fun time! What happened to writing letters? Oh Yeah e-mail. if your DD is interested please let me know and we can get them connected through e-mail.
Thanks,
Tina (Crazy4DisneyWI)
