Dream fitness room

On the Magic the treadmills had "courses" where you could virtually run through the woods, countryside, cities, etc. onscreen. I'm not sure they had any sort of tv connection otherwise.

Love these- have them here at our gym at home. You can set an incline max and your treadmill follows along with the terrain on the screen!

The Dream's fitness room has the treadmills facing out towards the windows. As others have stated, the screens will let you see paths and trails on pre-programmed routes. I really want to say you can watch TV on those same screens as well, but I don't remember for sure. There is a TV in the room, but you really can't see it from the treadmills.

The view out the windows is worth it alone.

Thanks! The view looks amazing. I run about 5 miles a day and need a distraction for part of my run to make time go by faster. My current addiction is watching top chef on Hulu. I'll have my kid's iPad on the trip but I don't think watching Frozen for the 10 millionth time will be motivating enough lol

There is an outdoor walk/run “track” on Deck 4...

There's enough to keep you busy. You can also run around deck 4, but I'd recommend doing it as early as you can. Starts to get crowded with walkers/runners/shuffle board, etc.

I've been wanting to try this. Last year on the Fantasy I tried making a lap, but then wasn't sure I was going the right way. I either had to go through a tunnel like area or go through the glass doors and back out to get to the other side of deck 4. Which way do I go to make a full lap?

All the way around outside - including the “tunnel thing”. If that was not part of the path it would be closed off. They make it very clear if an area is crew only.

Pro tip for keeping track of laps (at least for females)... Figure out how many laps you need to do and put that number of elastic hair ties on one wrist, then as you complete a lap transfer a band to the other wrist. When the wrist you began with is empty, you’re done!

Thanks! And love the hair tie suggestion.

The TVs on the gym equipment show the same channels as the TVs in the staterooms. You can watch Disney channels (espn included), the news channels they have or the ship channels (weather, view from the bridge, etc.).

My wife got me a little clicker that I could use to count laps.

What is there to watch on the treadmill TV screens?

I also vote for running on Deck 4. I just got off the Fantasy last week and I only did one run on the treadmill during the entire cruise. That's because their treadmills have no fans on them and it felt overly stuffy while I was running. Instead, I did the remainder of my runs on Deck 4. In fact, it felt better to run on Deck 4 because of the A/C at each end of the ship and the breeze you get if you're at sea. I also set a new personal record for laps on deck during this cruise at 123 laps in 10 out of the 11 days (didn't run on board on embarkation day because I ran at The Boardwalk at WDW). As for counting laps, I wear a stopwatch that has a lap counter. I just put a towel from the pool deck and my water bottle on one of those benches and hit the lap button every time I pass them. Also makes for very convenient water stops.
