I am , again, counting the days untill this cruise ! We didnt want to leave after being on it for 7 nights :) :worship:

Thanks to , ( forgot his username.. sorry :flower3: ), to have started this thread.

Josee

So excited for this trip and it's still so far away.

Josee, what did you think of the Dream? Did your children like the club? Any "insider scoop"?

This will be our 2nd Disney cruise. We cruised in 2007 when our DS was almost 4. He doesn't know we are cruising again. Hoping to keep it a surprise until Christmas! He will be so excited!

Yeah! We got people.

It's great that that we all have kiddies around the same age! Our son will be 8 next month.

We are from North Carolina. Where do you live?

I hope you will forgive me, I do not know that abbreviations and this is the first time I have replied. It is our first cruise and we are so excited.

Our group includes my daughter, granddaughter (age 5), grandson (age 3) and myself. I will try to figure out exactly how this works and we can't wait for the cruise.

Welcome Topiney

Hello Christine,

The Dream was AMAZING !! They pretty much taught of everything. Dinner experience was still a bit " under improvment" but other then that, we had a fantastic cruise. We realised that a lot of your "magical experience" when you cruise with Disney as to do with the level of friendliness the staff as toward your familly. If the servers interact with your kids, plays tricks, etc ... you wont mind , or will mind less, having to wait 20 minutes for a Sprite.

Same thing in your stateroom, if your attendant lower his head when you go by, you will notice that the staterrom isnt really clean when you are in it. If he says "hy" every morning and ask about your day ... you just wont mind, as long as you have clean towels :)

Those are my opinions, pesonnal, i just write as i would to a friend, no filter :)

On our first segment, our dinning team were not effective at all... on our 2nd segment, i ask for a rotation change, (because it would have been the 3rd night in a row in the same restaurant and wanted a change), and our dinner experience was amazing,,, same food, same restaurants, different serveurs/team made the whole trip a big difference.

Kids Club : WOW ... did i respond ? WOW !!! Unbelivable. Our son, 6 , asked us all the time to go. They choose to stay on board both time in Nassau rather then going to Atlantis, just to hang in the clubs and do activities that the ship had planned for family. We stayed o board the whole 7 days ! Oh yes, we did go 1 time to Castaway, where the kids left us after 2 hours asking to go to the club on the island ! ( 2nd segment, we could stop at castaway due to wind)

Insider scoop ? : not really... that is why we need to go back again ;) . Certain stateroom on deck 5 are in the passage way to the kids club... verry loud. Cabanas on castaway cay look amazing and is the only solution to have a beach area not crowded. The room service steak sandwich is verry verry good. The thing i learned for that cruise are Fish extender. We participate, last minutes, so only a few family were able to add us to their list but the experience is really really fun. We will definitly do it again next year.
Last thing .. never leave your room without your wave phone !! WOW, what a change in cruising when you always know where everyone is. We just loved this new addition. Stateroom with porthole, verry cool. You dont feel "inside" anymore and you can turn it off when it is time to sleep.

Welcome Topiney :cool1:, dont worry , i had never wrote on a website before the last months.. it all started on disboard, and now i think it is pretty fun to participate rather the just read what the other have to say.

We are from Canada. South shore of Montreal. DD will be 10 by then and DS will be 7.

Cant wait to go back ....:dance3:

Thanks for all the info Josee. It sounds like the kids are going to have so much fun in the clubs.
We did the fish extender during our last cruise. It was alot of fun, one of the highlights of our cruise. Would love to do it again !!!

How was the weather while you were there?

Thanks for your vote of confidence. We are all so excited to go cruising and meet all of you. I was trying a few things yesterday so we will see how it turns out. :cheer2:

Josee, Thanks for all the great information. :thumbsup2 I hope my DS likes the kid's club as much as your's did. We have an inside stateroom for this cruise so I am anxious/excited to see the new "portholes". I've read a lot about dining issues and I am hoping that by the time we cruise some of these problems will be worked out.

Josee or Christine, What is a fish extender?

Hi Christine
I'll try to explain how the fish extender works. I don't know if you noticed on your last cruise but outside your stateroom door there is a metal fish :fish:on the wall. The fish extender is made out of fabric ,has pockets and hangs on the fish kind of like a banner. I made my own fish extender but there are also
people who sell them on ebay. It really wasn't very hard to make. I will post a picture if I can figure out how:confused3
There's alot of information and pictures on the disney cruise forum.
During my last cruise there were about 8 families from our cruise meet that participated in the FE exchange. You exchange little gifts with the people from your meet by placing the gifts in the pockets of the fish extender.
They can either be little gifts you made or bought. I made little gifts bags with a small notebook, pen, some candy and small crafts for the kids. It's up to you. There are alot of great ideas on the disney cruise forum

It was alot of fun!! The kids loves going to all the staterooms to pass out the gifts and loved going back to our stateroom each night to find gifts in our fish extender
