Dream February 26, 2012 4-day cruise

Sounds like fun! My DS would love it. How did you know who was participating? Also, what types of items did you get?
Christine (Me, too):cheer2:, DH :surfweb:, and DS8 pirate:

Someone on our cruise meet kept a running list of all those that were participating including stateroom #s, ages/gender of children.
We got highlighters, candy, beach balls, travel first aid kits, glow sticks, suntan lotion, handmade key chains, pirate stuff, stickers, activity books

We'er on this cruise. I think we were on the same cruise as Josee (Feb 27th 2011 4 day). Josee were you on Deck 2? My parents said the family across the hall was from Montreal and they were staying on for a B2B.

We thought about booking the 7 day Magic but the Dream was just too incredible. I don't think I could go back to the older ships for a 4 day intinerary.

Food was great all cruise, we had an awesome server who ran his butt off for us. My mom and sister had some weird requests with their entrees and he always delivered. Our A/Server was a little on the slow side but nothing that detracted from our experience.

We loved the Aquaduck and my DSs fave was the mini golf and the Mid Ship Detective agency. This was also our first time in a Fish Extender exchange and we loved it. Definitely want to do it again.

I thought the improvements at CC were awesome. We found a spot way down at Pelican Point almost near the Cabana beach and it was not crowded at all.

I see so many threads complaining about the crowds on the Drean but we didn't experience anything negative in regards to crowds at all. We managed to avoid them most times based on our own schedule.

I am so glad we rebooked on board because the cruise has already gone up $300!!

Thanks for all the info Josee. It sounds like the kids are going to have so much fun in the clubs.
We did the fish extender during our last cruise. It was alot of fun, one of the highlights of our cruise. Would love to do it again !!!

How was the weather while you were there?

Christine (me):) DH:drive: DS (9) :darth: DD (9) :tink:

Hello Christine, For the first time in all the Disney cruise we have taken, we were not wearing long sleeve or jacket to the departure party outside ! It was amazing. :woohoo:

The first Castaway day was also beautifull...then the 2nd segment, we were not able to dock ... You can never know what weather will be like but, Disney do know how to make you forget about bad weather !

Josee.

Hi Josee

Thanks. Was alittle nervous about a booking a February cruise. Hoping we'll have great weather but I know we''ll have a fantastic time no matter what the weather

This is our second Disney Cruise. We went on one nearly eight years ago on the Wonder. We have now booked the Roy Suite and several other rooms on the February 26th cruise. Our room is set to be the host room for everyone. Everything seems to have changed enormously since our last voyage.

I am seeing the door magnet thing and FE gifts and what not. I want to be a good host for all of our guests. We are celebrating 2 family members in remission of cancer.

I understand the concierge level does not have the ability to have magnets posted on the doors. But for the guests traveling with us, I'd like to make some for them to place on their doors. What is the usual practice for this?

Also, for the FE gifts. I have no clue. Can someone please explain? It sounds a lot like Secret Santa but I honestly have no clue.

I appreciate everyone's help to ensure this is a magical experience for mysefl and my extended family.

And of course anyone traveling on this voyage is welcome to stop by if you are curious about the suite. I have seen posts that those that stay in the suites will not allow visitors. I assure you, if we are in the room we will answer the door and invite you in!

Welcome pdwimmer! :flower3: What a wonderful reason to celebrate. What a blessing.

I am not sure how the FE works in the concierge level. This is our second cruise as well and we did not even know about FE our first time around. Hopefully someone else has some ideas about how to work it out.

334 days till we leave.

Hello Pdwimmer,

I also was clueless 2 months ago about Fe... Here is what happened and what we did in february on board Disney dream.

Someone on the roll call asked who wanted to participate and ages/gender of participants. She created a list with those staterooms number.

I made a " Fish extender" out of fabric i had at home. The only important thing is to make sure there are pockets (even only one pocket will do ) for people to deliver gifts in it. I will try to post pictures ... but havent done it yet, dont know if i will be able to ...:teacher:

What we got : Goody bags with candies, notepad, crafts for kids / Christmas big kitchen utensils with candies / bracelets & keychain / pirates goody bags with small chest, chocolate coins, lanyard and a Disney dream chapstick mde for our cruise dates / magnetised pictures of our cruise ship & sailing dates, etc...

What we had made : Goody bags with leather case for wavephone, sunglasses for teenager, candies, glow in the dark necklace , stickers, pens with highliner. We had wrapped those in clear plastic paper like the one you get on fruit basket or flower arrangment.

Josee :)

I will be so proud of myself :cool2: ..... if this works :littleangel:

Here is a link (finger crossed) of us doing our FE delivery. As you can see, i have the sheet with stateroom numbers and we just delivered our bags to that stateroom. It gives you the idea of what a FE can look like, and what our goody bags were. It was so much fun.

So how does it work. Does each family get assigned another family or does everyone give gifts to anyone who is signed up? I am bummed because I learned of the stupid gates they put up on the Dream for concierge. But I know my kids would enjoy delivering gifts even if they aren't able to receive them. I would be happy to volunteer to start keeping track and sign everyone up, but since I have no idea what I am doing I need an experienced person to give me advise!

Hi pdwimmer welcome:wave2:

On our last cruise we exchanged gifts with everyone signed up. Some gave a small gift for each family member, just the kids or a family gift. It's entirely up to you.

Sorry about the concierge gates. I'm sure we can figure something out so everyone can participate :)

Thank-you for volunteering. Last cruise someone was in charge of keeping a post with a running list of all those participating in the FE including name,
stateroom number if available, # of people in stateroom, gender and ages of kids

Well wishes to you and your family ,what a truly joyous reason for celebrating:flower2:
