Dream Concierge

Random concierge question: seems really close to the senses spa, would a length of stay rainforest pass be worthwhile?

I am a steam room/sauna junkie. On the Dream, I am in the steam/sauna every am before breakfast and before I get get ready for dinner. After 3 cruises, it is now a ritual. The sauna has wonderful floor-to-ceiling window (see pic below). I love watching the ship dock from there... therefore I am officially reserving the spot on the end of the bench every morning from July 19th to July 23rd! Ha ha ha!

The showers are neat and a good way to cool off but not the reason I get a pass.

The Rainforest Room is literally steps away from the concierge rooms. No-brainer for me but I am sure it is not for everyone.

I really want to upgrade to concierge now on my May 14th cruise. However, they're all booked. What are the chances that someone cancels and their room becomes available? Is there a waiting list?

I"m on that cruise in concierge. I've been watching it every day because i'm hoping my SIL can go but that won't happen. Anyway, we are well past our PIF date and I highly doubt anyone cancels. All concierge were booked by end of January. The royals were open until then. I think the going rate for 2 people was 15K for each room when they got booked! Maybe it will be someone famous next to us. LOL. Anyway, As soon as I released our room (we switched from 12514 to 12000) it got SNATCHED up in 3 hours. Honestly I wouldn't hold my breath. That cruise is already sold out. It keeps showing up with one 4E cat room then it will be removed completely from the available cruises for May.

It seems to me that there is a period, very close to check in dates, when Disney frees up inventory into the DVC point system.Anyone notice this as well? Any guess how close to check in that is? Thanks!

Fairly unlikely for concierge as deposits are non refundable

Be sure to let your TA know you want to upgrade. You just never know what will happen. We had a Cat V room booked and upgraded to a Cat T when one opened up.

I've just scanned this whole thread and everyone here is convincing me to try concierge! Waiting til the later 2016 dates come out and am hoping my sister and her kids come with my dd and I. I wouldn't do a cabana but the videos are fab!

This room, specifically, is why my wife keeps getting a week-long pass.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I just wanted to say that persistence paid off. After checking the site countless times a day a concierge family room with verandah appeared last night for this sold out cruise... and I was able to upgrade!!!!!! I really can't believe this happened. Now it's time to start researching all over again. 41 days!

we sold out weeks ago. that popped up last night and i posted on my other group that it was available to anyone who needed an upgrade. glad you got it. i checked to see if they had happened to have had a cabana (just for fun cause we are already in one but i was curious) and nothing ever showed.

Grats. If I was independently wealthy and had someone to cover for me at work, cashe would have had me booking your cat v last night. :) (my real sailing is in sept.)

so you upgraded? will they be releasing your original room soon? someone on my other group is looking for a friend for a room for that date.

Trying to get that room was like trying to get a reservation at Be Our Guest. What was difficult was I would click on it and it would end up in my cart and then I would call to upgrade and they would say that they didn't see that room available. I guess every time you click on it from the Disney website, it "holds" it for 30 minutes. Not to mention, getting approval from my best friend to make the upgrade. lol

Sooo... I read this thread and saw it mentioned that concierge guests can order hot breakfast from room service. Then I saw that it was only for category T rooms. Which is correct?

I'm not sure. Our original room never showed up on the site after we upgraded. If it did, it was gone within 15 minutes.

Yes I went through the "why isn't available?" dance a few times with my TA, from clicking it.

I'm interested in the breakfast question for cat V. I get why they don't want to do full dinners (we have no dining table) but I can't remember the answer for breakfast.

pretty much same reason, no full table in cat V. You can still get "hot" items from Cabanas and bring back to the room (or so I've read from other people as options for cat V)

ETA: honestly, I bet you find TONS of stuff in the lounge that you'll like either way for breakfast. (if we don't snag you a T beforehand lol)
