Dream Bahamian 3 Night Cruise, June 12, 2014

We are flying from Omaha, Ne to Florida and then getting on the ship and wondering if I need a passport for my 2 yr old daughter some people tell me yes and some say I just need the original birth certificate?
And wondering about the FE do you give one item to the each person in the family or just one item or the whole family? And where does a person get one of those Big mickey mouse stickers. I have been looking at Pinterest for FE ideas..
Thanks Jessica:cool1:

For a closed-loop cruise (one starting and ending at the same US port) like our cruise, you DO NOT need a passport. An original birth certificate will work. Many people still like to have a passport for comfort. If for some reason you would need to fly home from the Bahama's you would need a passport to do so.

We took our first 2 cruises with our boys not having passports. We did get them before our last cruise because we are planning on doing an Alaskan cruise next year and would need the passports to fly into Vancouver.

We got passports for our cruise on the dream a few weeks ago just for my sanity.

For the FE gifts, some people give a cabin gift, some people give to the kids, some give to everyone. We got a little bit of everything.

I haven't confirmed that my parents are totally in for the FE, but here is our info:

9160
Stacy (f)
Jackson (m-11)
Cooper (m-9)

9654
Al (my dad)
Robbie (my mom)

Would any of you advise me to bring a small umbrealla stroller. I have a 2 year that im worried about.

I have never cruised with one young enough for a stroller but I think if I had a 2 year old I would bring it. An umbrella stroller is the way to go. The hallways and cabin doors are too small for a big stroller. You will also be able to fold it and slide it under the bed when you are not using it.

@Davidson19 I think bringing a stroller is a great idea for your lo. You will certainly use it while waiting in line to board, in Nassau, and I bet throughout the ship as well. Save your arms a little! =)

As far as the Fish Extenders go, how do you all feel about capping the list to 15 cabins? I will make as many lists as there are people interested with the option to join multiple lists. I think a cap may help people plan their gifts and packing situations a little easier. Please, let me know what you all think.

Thanks for the advice.. Yes I would say 15 cabins would be good. If you have at least 2 or more people to a cabin that's 30-50 FE items. Does anyone know where to get a Fish Extender or does everyone make there own?

Ebay and Etsy are great places to get a Fish Extender.

I like the idea of 15 cabins in a group. I'm not sure if we discussed a deadline, but that would be helpful too. On our last cruise, we had people joining the week we left.

As far as a stroller goes, I could see the umbrella stroller being very helpful. The larger strollers took up a ton of space- which is very limited on the cruise.

We're happy we've found the site. Here is some more info on my crew:
I'm DD (Disney Dad) David, DW Colleen and Dd Kayla age 9 (the day after we get off the ship). Colleen and I decided to take the cruise to celebrate our 40th birthdays.

Money savings!!!
We originally booked through Disney cruise line directly because we had a Disney Gift card to use (And took the travel insurance). I checked with a few travel agencies, Costco by far was the best deal. They will give us $260 cash card if we transfer the reservation to them (can only be done if not paid in full). Also their travel insurance was ~ 1/2 the cost of the DCL's.

Does anyone have a better deal?

Does anyone have any great plans for Nassau? We've been told to skip the port and stay on board.

Hi Everyone,
My 9 year old daughter Kayla was reading the forum with me. She noticed the ages of some of your daughters and asked if she could meet/get to know them before the cruise. Would anyone be willing to set up a Facetime or Skype video call?

Hello All!
Looking forward to this cruise! We have cruised before but this is our first with Disney!

Is anyone spending time at the parks before the cruise? We are staying at the Swan for 5 nights prior. If anyone is interested in sharing transportation from the Dolphin or Swan to get the cruise ship let me know!

Thanks!
Nicki

This is our first time on a Disney cruise. My daughter, Emma, thinks she is Ariel and loves everything Disney. Since she was 2 y.o. her favorite number was 4, so we always planned to take her on a Disney cruise for her 4th birthday. We decided to book this cruise since her birthday is June 15th, and I can't wait for her to have the best 4th birthday ever. It will be Jeff (my husband, 33), Erin (myself, 32), and Emma (my daughter, practically 4) going on this trip. We have decided to leave little brother (Jacob, 2 y.o.) at home with his nana for this trip, but hoping we can do another cruise with all of us in the future.

Cabin #: 12022

Question:What are the dimensions of the FE?

Yay for mid-June birthdays. Our daughter turns four the day we get off the ship. We have decided to stay on board when we get to the Nassau port.

We are cruising on the 6/12 cruise with our daughter and her 9 year old son. Hope to find a couple of other boys that he could enjoy the Aqua Duck and pool with. :cool2:

How will we know which families will be participating in the fish extender exchange? Will someone make a list? TIA :wave2:

Hey everyone! Our first FE list is closed. We have a new FE list started. If you would like to join, please, leave your cabin number, the number of adults in your room (if they are female or male), the number of children (their sex , age, and name), and if you are celebrating a special occasion. The list will close on May 15th or when we reach 15 cabins. which ever comes first. :thumbsup2

Hi!

Our family will be on this cruise as well and we're wondering if we could be added to the 2nd FE list? This will be our 2nd DCL as a family.

Tejada Family - Cabin 6684
Jose (Me)
Alicia (Wife, never ask a woman her age)
Dylan (Daughter, 12)

Thanks!

Hello everyone! We have a group of 8 going on this cruise to celebrate my mom's retirement. Joining me will be my mom, dad, uncle, aunt, my best friend, her husband, and 9 year old son. This will be my 14th Disney Cruise and 5th time on the Dream. My best friend will be the only other one who has cruised with Disney. Everyone else will be first timers. I'm so excited to get my parents on their first Disney Cruise so they can see why I love it so much. We won't be doing the fish extender, but I just wanted say hello and see who else will be joining us! Looking forward to a great cruise!
