I didn't see a meet thread yet for our cruise so I thought I'd set one up.

I just booked my very first Disney Cruise on the Dream! It's the June 12th 3-night Bahamian. It's just me and my 5 year old daughter and we couldn't be more excited. Can't wait to meet everyone!

So excited!!

Kristen

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:
Have a great cruise!

We are taking our first cruise too! Excited that you started a group! We are a family of six - me, Teresa, my husband Luke, my ten year old daughter Riley and my brother Adam are in one room together and my parents George and Patsy are in their own room.:thumbsup2

We just booked this cruise. It will be our 5th DCL. We just got off the Fantasy New Years Eve cruise and it was amazing. Going to Disney's Hilton Head Resort for a few days before we head down to finish the week on the Dream.

For those of you who are sailing for the first time - you will love DCL. If you have any questions, please ask.

It will be me Kristi, my DH Steve and our two boys Matt will be 13 and Shawn will be 10.

Hi there. We are planning on going on this cruise as well. We just got off our first dream cruise a week ago. It will be me and my two sons, Jackson (11) and Cooper (9 at time of travel). We are hoping my parents will join us in their own cabin.

Hello Everyone,
Me, my wife and 8 year old daughter have just booked this cruise. It will be our 1st time on the Dream. The 3 of us have been on the Wonder and a RCCL Cruise. Can someone guide me to the correct place to sign up for the Fish Extender? We've seen a few posts and it sounds like fun! Any tips or DO NOT MISS things on the Dream from the previous Dream cruisers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

By joining this forum, you are part of the fish extender group! It is my family's first time on the dream but you can find lots of trip reports that tell you what to see on the ship! Glad you joined us!

Hi all!

This will be our first Disney cruise as well. We are a family of 5- 2 boys (9 & 5) and one girl (3). We are all so excited about the cruise and the Fish Extenders.

I can make a list of all of the families/ rooms once we get closer for the FEE, if you would like.

I can't wait!:cheer2:

Is anyone celebrating a special event? I am trying to make the FE list and think it would be great to add in!

Jessica,

I have a bunch of FE questions, too as this is my first cruise. I've read up on it on this site, as well as others, but I'm still unsure as to the exact logistics. Any info would be great!

And yes, PStabatha! I'll be celebrating my birthday on the cruise (it's actually 3 weeks earlier, but this cruise was the earliest we could get away).

We are:

Kristen (41)
Madison (5)

Room # 9543

Can't wait!

Everyone that wants to join the FE group should post their names, ages of those in the cabin (kids mostly) and cabin number. PStabatha can then take this information and create a list of who is going to participate.

Everyone that is on this thread may not participate - we will probably not. I have been in two FE groups before though so I can answer any questions that you guys may have.

You usually set a deadline for signing up (1 month before cruise). This will give the people participating time to get their gifts put together. You also may want to decide on a max number of cabins. Sometimes if you get too big of a group it gets difficult to make all the gifts, transport and deliver them (especially on a short cruise). You can see how many people sign up before your deadline and then decide if you need to split the group or not.

Hope this helps.

Another item that you might want to put on your FE list is if anyone in has any allergies. Some people like to give food as a gift so this is good information to know.

Okay I have a few questions about the gift giving process! I've read some blogs and they've briefly talked about it but I'm still not sure. When do we hand out gifts? Every night? One night? Do we all do the same night? Are we going to be designated a night? Do we hand out gifts to adults that are participating? What are some good ideas for adults (is alcohol allowed or a no no because this is more kid friendly?)? Any other info on gifting would be greatly appreciated :)

In the groups that I have been part of, everyone just handed out gifts whenever they wanted. This is something that the people of the group can decided on though. You would want to make sure that you have everything handed out by the last afternoon because of everyone needing to pack.

I have heard of people doing alcohol but have never received any. I personally wouldn't hand out alcohol because I would be paranoid of getting into the wrong hands.

Usually whom you give out gifts to is up to you. In the past we have given 1 gift to the adults and then something small to each child. This is something also that the group can decide on.

Sorry for all the posts - I keep thinking of things.

You probably don't want to designate one night for everyone to hand out stuff because your Fish Extender pockets would get very full. On our 7-night cruises, sometimes everytime we would come back to the room their would be a surprise waiting.
