Dream April 14,2011

Hello everyone:flower3:

I booked this 3 night cruise yesterday:banana:
Our party is Me (Joanne), Richard (DH), Anna (8) and Poppy (5).
We are from the the London area and this will be our first cruise  and I am so excited to be going on a Disney Cruise.
I have booked this as a surprise for my family and will give it to DH as his Christmas present :santa:
Our Florida trip will be three weeks in legnth and the cruise is in the middle there somewhere, so I am hoping it will be a perfect halfway relaxing break for us. Can't wait to see how the Dream looks when it first sets sail in January:thumbsup2

Welcome Joanne.... 9 more months, it is getting closer. I bought 2 new "Life is Good" tshirts for the cruise yesterday, so I guess you can say I have started packing. :lmao: Actually getting ready to head to Virginia Beach for a bit.

Welcome! What a great surprise for your DH :cheer2: I would never be able to keep a surprise for that long! Any time you feel like sharing your excitement while keeping your secret (and after), we will gladly share it with you
:dance3:

Yes, welcome...we will be on that cruise also..I am excited about it, I love the planning part...enjoy the secret and if you need to talk about anything Disney...just hop on here and we will all listen:)

Hello! I haven't been on in awhile . I just wanted to stop in and say Hello to all the newbies. It is really nice to see this site growing. My last cruise group was pretty big and as did some of you i also made alot great friendships that I still keep in touch with.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and form some new Disney friendships again. After all Disney friends are the best friendships to have because we all have something we love in common DISNEY! Well have a great day fellow Disneyers. Crystal in PA~

It doesn't seem possible that in just 9 months and a few days we will be sailing. My first cruise and I am so excited:)

Hi everyone!!! I just booked the Comfort Suites for 4/15 Nassau day--just an FYI there's only one room left at the $250 rate, then the rate goes up. For us, it will be worth it--$480 through Disney ouch!! DS is really looking forward to Atlantis. My planning is at such a standstill--Southwest Air dates for booking are far away, Universal Orlando hotel prices aren't out yet, and I won't book a prehotel until I know what time we'll be getting to Orlando. If we get in late, we're looking at the MCO Hyatt or a priceline hotel near the airport.

The next few months are a very busy time of year for us--DS starts football season at the end of this month which pretty much consumes all of our time until it ends. We also have our Ocean City, Md vacation with my whole family (about 25 of us) in August. Hope everyone's summer is going well--it's been HOT here which is a nice change from last summer's cold and rainy weather.

Looking forward to meeting all of you next April :)

I got a AAA rate for $225. I saw the rest of them had gone way up so I booked both legs of our B2B cruise. Just fyi, there is only 3 of us, so if someone has a family of 5.... or if there is just a couple wanting to go, I am able to add 1 more to my room. Last cruise there were 2 familes of 3, so both of us added one more person and then we all took a taxi over together which was nice. Off to Virg Beach..... Time for some sun/relaxation! take care...

Another family of 3 :grouphug:
We booked the room too and would be able to add one more person.
So, now we have 3 families of 3 booked :

:confused3 My DH is not a big fan of waterparks. I was wondering: if i change my reservation for just myself and our DD, would he be allowed to go around with us and just skip the slides?:upsidedow

You need the bracelet to get in the pool/slide area--my DH will probably be at the casino but will join us at some point I'm sure. I also hope to check out the beach while we're there.

Silly question perhaps, but what is all this with the rooms and Atlantis?? I'm not up on the subject. Can someone explain. I've got two 13yr olds that will be traveling on this cruise and I see Atlantis and waterslides but don't know what to do.

There are no silly questions :surfweb:Q:cloud9:
If you want to use Atlantis facilities (pools, waterparks, etc) you can buy your tickets via Disney (so expensive :headache::scared:) or book a room at Comfort suites in Nassau, right by Atlantis, and you will get a bracelet (as Bridget mentioned) that would allow you to use all Atlantis has to offer = it is usually a cheaper option.

Okay, if there are no silly questions ;) what else is there to do in Nassau if you don't do Atlantis? Just walk around town? Shopping eating etc?
Thanks:thumbsup2

You got this right, Joanne!:thumbsup2
Shopping, walking around town, or just stay at the beach by Atlantis ( you do not have to pay to go to Paradise beach, only for your taxi ride that used to be around $5 per person).

We did a dolphin encounter our first visit to Nassau and then a walking tour on our own the 2nd time. I've read reviews that Blackbeards Cay is pretty nice too for a beach day/sting ray swim. On our last cruise, our tablemates went to the free beach (just asked a cab driver to take them to the beach) and had a great time, said the water was beautiful. I'm not much into the shopping in Nassau and the straw market is just not for me :scared1:.

After going to Atlantis this time, my DH doesn't care if we ever get to Nassau again and if we do, we'll treat it as a sea day.

I have a ? for all of you. How did you know what day to book the Comfort Inn? How do you know when we will be their lol? We are a family of 5 and would love to take one of you up on this offer of added one of us to your room . If we can book the room but don't know when to book it for. You guys are such great planners lol.

Does anyone have a phone # or website for the comfort. Thanks!

I hope this helps:

P.S. I just called and applied AAA rate to our reservation. That is how it comes out:

Cancellation Deadline: If you need to change or cancel this reservation, you may do so up until Sunday, April 10, 2011, before 4pm local hotel time. Sub Total $225.00
*Estimated Tax ( and, i think, surcharges) $66.40
Estimated Total: $291.40

Hotel Alerts:Must have one adult 21 years or older in each room. Energy surcharge: 12.95 per person per night. Housekeeping gratuities: 5.00 per person per night These are additional charges not included in nightly estimated total and must be paid directly at the hotel. Persons 16 and older are charged as adults. 3rd/4th person charged 40.00 per night + tax and service charges.

It is still cheaper than booking via Disney excursions. If you interested: only ONE room left at that rate.....
