So I am just curious what everyone's thoughts are on what will happen when the Fantasy comes on line in 2012 (is that the correct)??? Do you think the Dream will keep on with the 3 and 4 nites and the Fantasy take on the 7 nites? I know everything is pure speculation at this point but I am curious. Also have we heard any dates with relation to the Fantasy, is it expected like a year after the Dream or what?

Thanks!

Kayla

Kayla,

What we know:-

Both new ships are under contract at Port Canaveral for three years from when they come into service.
Wonder is under a two year contract, with Los Angeles that can be renewed every year for upto five years.
I feel DREAM will stay on 3/4 (some 5) night Ba hams cruisin.
I feel Fantasy will have some slight changes ie more suite rooms for 7 night crusin. Taking over the Magic routes.

Reports on ship say this is the case, a few here say Dream will swap to 7 nights, but I think thats based on when Magic and Wonder came into service, and Magic started on 3/4 nights and then swapped to 7 nights. I do not think that will be repeated. The same thoughts came out when the Wonder moved to LA, people posted it would undertake 3/4 nights there, as thats what the Wonder does, that was incorrect.

Fantasy, will come into service in 2012, later than the Dream, it hasn't started being built as yet, we do not have dates I think summer/fall 2012.

PS I posted about 18 months in advance the 'in service' date for Dream to within one week.

Wow Andrew that was like lightening fast!! Thanks!

So then one could assume that the they will both be in the Carribean for the next few years then. That is good, I guess that makes since as I suspect that is where the money is. They just need to get a boat down there doing 7 nighters, of course that is just my opinion!!

Thanks,

Kayla

One will do Bahamas, one will undertaken seven night Caribbean, you should have Magic around in the Winter as well doing 10/11 night Southern Caribbean runs. But thasts the second part of 2012.

:sad2: I assumed the Fantasy would sail Jan 2012.....

So if I plan a Caribbean 7 night cruise for winter 2012 it would be on the wonder??:upsidedow

Magic. Will continue on 7 night Caribbeans.

Wonder is based in LA. Fantasy will not be in service that early, again thats based on a repeat of the Dream date.

According to the hotel director and future cruise reservationist on the Magic, the Dream will definitely be doing the short cruises, and the Fantasy will definitely be doing the week long cruises as Andrew speculated above. The crew has been told that the Fantasy will come into service most likely in February 2012.

:thumbsup2

Date is far earlier than I expected....

I will still hold on to Summer 2012.

Andrew you are usually spot on but that Feburary date would sure be nice!!!!

I guess we will all be holding our breaths for those sailing dates at the end of this year or next year?? I don't know how early they do those things???

opps I meant the magic.

So they will have to confirm when the Fantasy will sail before they will release the 2012 sail dates. When does that usually happen???

Will I be able to book the Fantasy On board in Feb 2011 ??
We are sailing MR Feb 2011 would love to sail the Fantasy Feb 2011:banana::banana:

Andrew when did the Dream construction begin, I know it was last year but do you remember the month?

Wonder when they will start on the Fantasy? Does the Dream have to reach a certain point before that will begin or is their another cruise line ship to be built next?

I'm praying this is right. Our city is building new schools and in 2012 our kids get out for the year the middle of May. I was so excited thinking we could do our next 7 night cruise then on a new ship. It would be a bummer for us if it's not true because this will be a once in a lifetime that we could cruise in May when hopefully its a little cheaper instead of summer. Keeping my fingers crossed for that February date!

I thought I read that come this fall we'd be able to book for 2012 does that still hold true?

this is a great thread. was just trying to figure out what will happen in 2012.

yes, does anyone know when they release the 2012 dates and itineraries?

we booked a dummy cruise for nov 2011, but would really like to do a 7 day on one of the new ships in spring of 2012.
