Is this something that is a must see for kids? I would have to think it draws big crowds. Our kids are 8, 6, & 4.

Sure!

Generally, it does not get overwhelmingly busy at any one show.
Get there at least 30 minutes prior and get a spot closer to the stage.

(BTW, if you want a sneak peek for yourself, there are a lot of videos
of the show on YouTube. Just do a search for the name.)

This is a cute 20 minute show and there are quite a few shows each day - from morning to early evening. It is in full sun so you may want to plan for a morning or evening show.

Be aware the characters do blink while talking and dancing. The blinking does bother some guests! ;)

I call 'em, "Those BLINKIN' Disney characters!!"

;)

So... there's a 2:05 show which may work nicely if I get a FP for FoF since I'll be right there (can see the show, then go to the FP area after)... Although I'd have to assume that time would generate more crowds because people are getting ready for the parade.

Blinking? Do you mean the ones with the non human heads?? Never really thought of this! Why does it bother people?? Does it look freaky?? Maybe I should check out those youtube videos!

The show moves along very quickly - my DD performs in it so I have watched a Dream Along video many times! - so, you would really notice the blinking/eye closure in a still photo. It's like watching Talking/blinking Mickey and his Talking/blinking Friends dancing in a show.

OMG I love this - I'm watching the youtube video now! I didn't realize Mickey was such a smooth dancer (which is saying something when you have two mice with large ears spinning closely!!). The characters are amazing!! This is a definite! I'm actually getting tears in my eyes thinking of my kids reactions! I hope no one comes to my desk right now!

Itinkso - that is great, all the CM's / characters are awesome!

Thanks buggy! I will pass on your kind comments to DD and she will share with her friends. They don't often receive guest feedback because they aren't in close proximity to the audience! Enjoy the show!! Please wave to Minnie for me! ;)

Tell your DD we are huge fans too, and we love all the dancers and performers! DD is 8 now, and has adored this show since she was 2. We usually catch it multiple times on our trips. We will see it a couple of times from start to end, and then any time we are anywhere near the castle and it is playing, DD makes us stop and watch the rest. I thought as she got older she might not have to see it more than maybe once on a trip, but so far that has not happened. We watch a youtube video every now and then if we need a Disney fix too.

OP, I don't know how crowded a time you are going, but I don't think we have ever waited more than 15 minutes for it, and that was the time we sat down at the very front row. DH (a pale red head) hates waiting in the hub area during the day for shows to start because there is no shade and the sun just beats down and reflects off the concrete. It isn't that packed. You can get pretty close just 10 minutes before the show, and often even right when the show starts. Sometimes you can get pretty close during the show as people tend to be pretty spread out in the area.

Thank you, ktlm! I will definitely pass on your wonderful comments, too!

In February, we stopped to watch a show after it had begun and still had a good view. We always stand a little farther back so that kids can move in front of us, but, it never fails, a tall father with his kid on his shoulders will stand right in front of us. So, I agree, getting there a few minutes before showtime and being in the section where everyone is seated would be best.

We love it. My son did cover his ears when the fireworks went off. In the last two times we went to Disney we have seen the show 4 times. The first time was a 2:10 or 2:15 show. We got there at 2:00 and I got a spot on the curb for the parade with ds while my 10 year-old went close to the castle and sat on the ground. Then it wasn’t long after it was over before the parade started.

But yes it is in direct sun. Those personal fans really came in handy. It wasn’t windy so we were able to use our spraying ones to keep cool. My son had one clipped to his stroller.
