Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

Just curious, does anyone else have a verandah cabin? We love having the verandah. Nothing beats the view and sea air right in your room! :goodvibes

Yes we have one to this is our 1st time sailing with one... So I am relly looking forward to it.

After reading all the posts that give such a bad review to our cabin "5180" because of noise from below, we asked our TA to be moved BEFORE midnight on the first night, like many people are reporting. TA said we may have to upgrade, but I think that for $200 more, it will save DD11 meltdowns since she is so hypersensitive to noise because of her autism. I'm so relieved that we could go from cat 06B to cat 05B. We should end up on deck 8 instead of deck 5 so we will have to edit the FE list. But I think it's worth it! If we can prevent loosing our sanity beforehand, and make a cruise from hell like I read in the reviews, to a magical cruise, like we wish for, the move is worth it.

That is great that you could move :thumbsup2 and it sounds like you made the right choice for your family:hug:. I am not too worried about the noise I plan to just wear my kids out.:cloud9:

never know...we are GTY...so with a little pixie dust, we may be having tea out there in the mornings also, if not, i'm still going to have a blast!!!:flower3:

I've scanned through the more recent postings on this thread and I didn't see a list of all the participants. If no one's put one together, I would be happy to! I'm such a list-maker.

I've found that several of us have posted our "real names" along the way, so I've jotted them down. Last cruise, I met several from our cruise thread in the terminal and it was great fun to bump into each other onboard!

sounds like a good idea. i have been wondering what your names are. I'm Amelia Forte, my husband is Ralph and my grandson is Logan. An idea for the listing would be to have a link like we have for the FE. You can add to it when you find a new one out and anyone can check on it when they wish.:flower3:

So I am shocked that we are going into March already...Feb. has gone by so fast and I know we all have lots to do. I have started spring cleaning and I must say it feels great.

I am thrilled that we are hitting our 60 day mark. Time is starting to fly. I wish I could say the snow has stopped. Today we had a birthday Party for my son that just turned 7. The Doctors said he would not see 1. Shows you that doctors can be wrong. He is having his 1st too night. He is having a blast. :scared1: Lets just hope they sleep sometime tonight.:worship:.

We are new and are sailing on the mother's day cruise. I did not know that you had to sign up for a port arrival time. How do you so this? Our flight should be in at about 10:30AM. Is there anything else a first timer should know?

Is there anything else a first timer should know?

Do you want to be on DISBoard full time until we sail? :surfweb: I'm kidding of course... or am I?

Seriously, I've been on the Net for the last 2 years learning new stuff daily for our cruise and our stay at the Poly. I had a good reason: wanted to learned everything I needed to know to make sure DD11 with special needs was going to be O.K., safe and secure and have fun, still hoping for Disney Magic.

But, what do you, want to know? :confused3
About what to pack? About how to make sure you have good pictures of your cruise? About what to eat? About the Door Magnets? About the FEs? About the meet we want to have? About the kids activities onboard? About adult activities? About port options? Seriously, we can go almost forever. Can you help us help you and be as specific as possible?

Hopefully we can help you, :grouphug:

:tinker:Poussière de fée!

Welcome to our party ship...if you look back at past postes you will find tons of info and answers that you are looking for.

The first post in this thread now has a direct link to this post, showing the DISers on the May 8 - 12 sailing (Thanks, branv!):

I've got these sorted by your DISboard username, and I'm hoping to post the names of everyone in your stateroom ("cast") and your hometown, along with any special occasions you are celebrating.

Please send me a PM if you don't want to be included in the "registry" or if I do not have you included. After chatting with some other folks, I think we'll leave stateroom numbers off this post.

Awesome! Thanks for taking care of this for us!

Since you're sailing a week later, we promise to leave the ship in good shape for you and your fellow cruisers!!

So I might be getting a new job this net week...or I should say here that I have and then I have to wait for the letter to come in with my start date. They have no idea right now what the start date will be. One person said mid march and other said 3 to 6 weeks and then the last one said it could be 8 weeks. I am so lost on when to tell them about the trip. I have not said anything because I do not have the offer letter with the start date on it. It might be after the trip or before. And advise on who I should handle this one. I am sure someone out there has been in this spot before. I am just hoping that is will not hurt me getting this job because I am not going to miss our boat.:woohoo:

hi guys!!!! i've been out of town and just wanted to catch up. i had a great visit with my grandson this past week. wont bore you with the three plane cancellations and lost baggage on my way home; what matters is i'm finally here:banana: i want to make sure everyone knows that there is a link to the
FE list on the first page; just recently got a question about it and felt awful they didnt realize it had been there for quite sometime. so remember, any questions, just PM me.:flower3:

Amelia...I just wanted to welcome you back..I know it took you a long time to get home.

Only 64 more days and we will be out of here.

Yes, we have a verandah, category 5D, on deck 6. On our last cruise, we booked an outside stateroom with a porthole, no verandah, but were upgraded to a verandah stateroom. :cool1:

Oh, and I'll pass along a tip from another DISer: order the cheese and cracker plate from room service (free, just need to tip the server) for late afternoon cocktails (which we'll be carrying on with us, because DCL is awesome about allowing you to bring alcohol on board!) before heading up to dinner or the theater. I cannot WAIT!:cheer2:
