Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

You bet, I'll ride the Aquaduc! I'm 48 y.o. and still figure skate 5 to 7 hours a week. I went back practicing my "axel" and my "doubles". Does anybody thinks I will let DD ride alone ?????????

By the way, Welcome to disneykelly73 and PhilippeP to our thread :thumbsup2

Thanks , Clochette !
Are you going to WDW before or after the cruise ??? I'll go after for the re-opening of Star Tours (2) and maybe the Stra Wars Week end ... That's not yet decided ..

To PhilippeP:

Nous serons au Polynésien pendant 8 jours précédant la croisière.

Never realized it would be the Star Tours (2) opening week or around it. You bet I'll be there too! Hoping for a soft opening... My husband's nickname is Luke Skywalker because in his earlier years, he very much looked like him (and still does in an older version ...) and his actual name is "Luc". But you know what? I still prefer Yoda... ;-)

Beaucoup de poussière de fée,

Clochette Nordique

I did not know that Star Wars weekend started that weekend. We are going to wdw before hand...maybe that is a good thing so we can miss the crowds at MGM.
I am busy reading the book that has some info about the dream. I will share this with you all that DCL has said the staterooms on the Dream are 2 to 3% smaller than the wonder or the magic.

Also that they are testing in 2010 Kids Only Adventures where they will go with Camp staff on a field trip in port. This is not offered on an other ship other than the MED. Cruises. I hope to see this on the ships soon too.

I will share more as I read it.

Usually Star Wars weekends start the 3rd week of May, for 2011 that would be May 20 which is the week after our crusie. The "new" Star Tours attraction is scheduled to open on May 16, 2011 which is closer to end of the cruise.

i checked...we are in the "black out dates"

Sorry, I should have paid more attention to the dates :sad2:, interesting that the dates in May for free dining are only near Memorial Day. Certainly there will be other discounts for May as that month gets closer. I was able to modify my December reservation for the Beach Club, 40% off, saved over $1100! I'm happy about that!

Ok all I got my Passporter book and it has lots of info about the Dream in it....I must say it has some info that I did not know that has changed since our last time we sailed. If you want to get your hands on a copy visit www.passporter.com and click on store. I get the deluxe copy.:)

i could never get my husband to put any input into planning our trip. he would just say, just do whatever you want; i'm ok with it. one morning i asked him to sit at the computer for a few minutes and watch this video.
he saw the aqua duck and said "book it"!!! he loves coasters of any sort.
We are 55 and cant wait to ride it. too bad our grandson will be too small.
he saw it and got scared. i told him that the ride was too big for him (not he was too small for the ride) and he was just fine with that.:flower3:

Ok I have to share!! They have a new dine and play option for the kids!! They go to dinner with you. You let the staff know they are going to do the dine and play. They will get the kids dinner out right away! The club staff will then come up in 45mins and take the kids to the club where they can play while you eat!! Just awesome!! I love it!!

where's the "like button"!!:flower3:

I've read about that here on the DIS. It seems to be very popular.I think it's a great idea :thumbsup2 It's a win win. Kids can eat and play and grown ups can eat and relax.
So you think the new Passporter is worth it? I loved my old one. I can't wait to hear first hand reports of people who have been on the ship and their experiences too. I'm sure they will update asap!

I wonder if you will be able to ride the "duck" with little ones who are not "big enough", in your lap? Not real little ones of course but the little ones just shy of being "big enough"?

Yes it is worth it but the 2011 book I don't think will be out in time for our may date so I went for the 2010!

The Birnbaum Disney Cruise Line guide for 2011 should be out in late September. It will be interesting to see what information about the Dream is included in that guide since its published by Disney.
