2nd best suite? You have something against Roy?
Why had a Roy when the Walt is the same price?
But me personally, an upgrade to a 1BDR would be just fine.

So I spoke with my TA today. The 8a rooms on the 5th floor only sleep 3. So I have gone from being happy about my rooms to being in tears.
We have 4 children and as you know the queen doesn't split, so I had planned on letting the 3 girls (who will not share a bed without fights) sleep in one room, while hubby, baby and I slept in the other room, leaving a sitting area for us. Which is why I was excited about the layout with they baby.
Well now I have to have 2 girls in one room, the other on the couch in our room, the baby in the pack and play and us. Not the end of the world for some people, but it is our 10 year anniversary this cruise, so I would have loved a little more space to myself. Now I will have two children sleeping in my room, which means no tv after bedtime
Then there is the bathroom. My TA called DCL and they say it is a split bathroom with round tub, but clearly it isn't. No one else in my family finds an issue with it, but I do. I am all about the bathroom and shower. They even say in all their literature that all 8a's have a split bath and round tub including the rooms on deck 5.
I am so sad and dissapointed. If I would have known about this last year when I booked instead of a few weeks before my trip on the now sold out cruise, I would have gone up one more category. SIGH

If I were you, and was forced to keep that room, I'd definitely let them know how unhappy it makes you to book one thing and get another. That's my opinion.
That is the advice from my TA. I have already printed out the documentation saying what the room should be and my TA is actually going to be there when I am there. I am just sad that I will have to take time on the cruise to deal with this. SIGH
Feeling a little better today about it, just glad to found out about it while I am at home and not be surprised about it when I got onboard.

I just found this on a website cruises dot com.

DCL isn't forcing anyone to do anything, including keeping a room. Why is it DCLs problem that 2 girls won't sleep in the same bed? It isn't. And the floor plans and room layouts all say sonething to the effect of artisit rendering, layouts may differ from pictures. Some cabins have split baths, some don't. I think the description on the website indicates that.
We have all spent a lot of money booking and going on cruises. All I expect when I have booked is a room that will accomodate the amount of people in the room. If it means sharing a queen bed with someone, so be it. When I was a child and was living with 3 of my sisters, when we went anywhere, we slept where we were told, sometimes 3 in a double. If we so much as peeped about it, there would be discipline. What my parents said, we did. If we didn't want to do something that was part of the plan, too bad, so sad, We didn't pay for the vacation and my parents were not going to put up with us being brats. We did not spoil our parents vacations, either.
