Dream 5-Night March 4, 2012

I don't plan to book remy or palo this time around, but I do want to book babysitting for my twins. I REALLY don't want to stay up until 12 a.m.(I am EST) so if I just want to book babysitting and nothing else can I wait until morning and not loose sleep???

Also, I didn't book airfare yet and my kids don't have their passports yet so can I still check in online without this info????

Hello lisagirl88,

I do not know the answer to being able to schedule babysitting ahead of time. I see people doing that and other childrens activities once they get to the port terminal. You might want to call DCL to find that out. As for check-in on-line, you can begin the check-in on-line but you will not be able to complete it until you have the ID information. Same goes for the flight information. Those two things can be done as you obtain the information. Again, you just won't be able to complete the check-in. Once you start it you can always return to it to input more information. You will have until shortly before the cruise departure to complete the on-line check-in. I don't recall how many days ahead of the cruise it must be done. But don't worry if you do not get it done on-line. You can always do it once you get to the port terminal. That means it will take a little longer to get through that process and board the ship.
Getting excited yet? :woohoo:

Lisagirl88, I am updating my original reply I just gave you above. I visited the DCL web site and looked up "nursery". Yes, you can reserve nursery time ahead of time when you become eligibale for your on-line check-in. It will be a part of cruise activities. The nursery is available for babysitting for children ages 12 weeks to 3 years. On-line check-in along with the activities you wish to reserve ahead of time can be done until March 2, 2012. After that you will have to wait to do these things at the port terminal. Hope this helps.

Chris,

Thanks for the information, the whole timezone thing always throws me off. Do you know the dining rotation for our cruise?

Good Evening Lisa, :wave2:

Yes, the time zones are a factor to deal with, especially when DCL allows you do do one thing at one time at a certain time zone then something else at a different time at a different time zone. As for the dinner rotation, you will not know your rotation until you check in at the terminal. It will be on your stateroom key card that will be issued to you at that time. You will also find when you get into your stateroom a ticket for dinning that states the same. It is that ticket you bring with you to dinner and show when you enter the dinning room. That ticket will also have your assigned table number noted on it. That table number will be the same for each dinning room. Just bring that ticket with you each time.
Good luck on your on-line check-in and any ressies you wish to make. :woohoo:

Good morning everyone:yay::yay:

Did you all get up at midnight????

I sure did!!!!! And I got what I wanted!!!!!!

8:00 PM
(Until 10:00 PM) Palo Dinner (DD PALO 2)
Attendees: Frenchsnowhite!!!!

Just wanted to ask you guys a question, it's been too long since I've done this, what does the DD Palo 2 means? Because we have 2 cabins so I booked for my self in cabin #1 and then for my husband in cabin #2.
So now do we have a ressie for 4 or for 2?????

And a good morning to you. The number usually indicates the number of people on any ressie. For instance, when you book Palo it goes by stateroom and then you select who in that stateroom will be a part of the ressie. Example, my wife and I are in one stateroom thus I checked both our names for that stateroom. In your case you brought up each stateroom (from your statement above) and checked just one name in each stateroom. Thus you would be reserved for 2 people, thus the DD Palo 2. Because you did not check both names in each stateroom you will not have ressies for 4 people.
I hope I helpeed.

Congrats!:cool1:
We're nearly there!
Just a quick question for those already checked-in.
What check-in time's were available?
We can't check in 'til 20th. I'm debating whether to keep our night-before ressie at the port or stay another night in WDW. I'm thinking if we aren't able to get a check-in time until after 1pm, we might as well extend our stay at the BC another night. Sitting at the port hotel until 1pm+, waiting to go, might be a little frustrating!;)
Thanks! Anita

Ok, so what does the number 2 stands for in that case???

The number "2" in DD Palo 2 stands for 2 people. Congrats on your port arrival time. We were also able to get the 11-11:30 time slot a couple weeks back. We always try to get on board early enough to have something to eat(brunch), water tube slide if it is running, and walk around and just relax before the sail away party. By the way, Cabana is our choice as the place to go for that brunch once on board. You can either eat inside or outside there.

Just called DCL to make it clear:rolleyes1

We have 2 reservations for 2 for Palo, so we can be 4 of our group to eat at Palo that night:banana::banana::banana:

Are we there yet??????????????:rotfl:

Not quit yet but it is getting closer. I am getting that feeling of warm air, crystal blue waters, blue skies, CC, food and more food, a couple Bahama Mamas, a little shopping, and the list goes on. :thumbsup2 :yay:

Can I reserve babysitting without doing online check in? My problem is I still need to get passports for all of my kids and make my airfare ressies. Can I check in without this information???

Also, we are traveling with my parents and have a "linked" reservation. Can I check them in when I am checking us in even though they are not Castaway Club members?

Hi lisagirl88,

I did my online check-in last night so I can answer your questions. You can go in and edit the personal information later to put in your passport numbers (we haven't gotten ours in the mail yet) I just checked the photo id option and moved on. The same with your flight information, that can be edited later as well.

We were not able to check-in online for our friends that are linked with us because they too are not Castaway members. I suggest you do the online check-in now so that you can select your port arrival time.

Hope that helps,
Lisaradz

oops I forgot to answer your first question. I'm not sure about the babysitting. You can make ressies for specialty dining and excursions so I would assume you do babysitting as well, but I didn't pay much attention to that link.

Good morning Lisagirl88 :surfweb:

Yes, you can make your babysitting ressies without having completed your on-line check-in, just as Lisaradz stated. Also just as Lisaradz stated, you can complete and edit the on-line check-in any time. You have until March 2 to comeplete or edit the on-line check-in. After that date you would have to wait until you get to the terminal to completed the check-in process. The babysitting will be under the heading of "Nursery" in the activities section of the ressies. The nursery is for 12 week olds to 3 year olds. Nursery is one of a few catagories listed. Others are specialty dining (Palo and Remy), sport/recreation, and spa.
I also help this has helped. :thumbsup2

I was able to check in 3 of our 4 cabins. I as well was able to get the 11:00-11:30 time slot for the 3 of us. Unfortunately one of the cabins in our group is nat able to check in online until Dec 20th as well. Do you think that they will let them on with us? Has anyone else had this happen?

I was just reading some of the posts and we are arriving on March 1st in Tampa. Staying with my sister and her husband (Wendy and Ed) who are going as well. Their neighbor is going with us so we are taking a car service from their house. We fly back from Tampa on the 9th at 4:45 pm.

Yay, I'm so excited. We booked Remy and we got the 11:00 boarding time. The only thing that was full was the Palo Brunch. Oh well, if I can't make it this time, we'll just have to go again! :rotfl:

Chris, you will probably know the answer to this question. I went ahead and made a ressie for Remy for DH & I, but out friends can't do online check-in until the 20th. At that point can I add them to our dinner reservation? Lisa

Lisa,

As for your attempt for Palo brunch, you said it was full. As soon as you board the Dream go up to Palo/Remy and there is a staff member who can help you find any open dates and times for Palo brunch. DCL always keeps a few openings for specialty dinners and brunch open for people who could not book on-line. At that time you can include your friends.
As for getting your friends on dinner or brunch ressies, you can do that now if your cruise reservations are tied together. We often travel together with a family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and we always tie the cruise reservations together. This allows either of the families to make ressies that can include both families.
If you do not tie the cruise reservations together I would recommend calling DCL to see if you can still include your friends at this time or have to wait for Dec. 20. Also note, if you do that (call DCL) or if you decide to tie the cruise reservations together (you can call DCL to tie together) make sure you have your friend's cruise reservation number and the names of the people in that family. DCL will help you either way.

Good Luck, :thumbsup2
Chris
