I just spent lunch reading through this thread today. We'll be sailing on this cruise also. I was a 30 minute lurker and wanted to speak up now and end my lurkieness. I'll send out a PM with our info and hit FB tonight. I've done a couple Dismeets in the parks, but for some reason did not think about this for the Cruise unitl today and shazam, here's the thread.

This is our first cruise. Me, DW, DS14 and DD11. Thanks for all the great information that you've posted so far. I really like the whole FE idea. We're getting geared up for the magnets and planning out our trip. We'll be staying at the Radisson's Resort at the Port and debating on staying around after the trip for the 6/28 Shuttle launch.

It's also a kick seeing how almost everyones countdown matches in this thread.

Sshh! Don’t tell DH about the shuttle launch! We have to return on 6/26 because DD has camp on 6/27 and DH will not be happy if he hears about the launch. Hope you can stay and see the launch!

Hi All!!

Wow, there's a lot of posts here! Going to take time to read through this whole thread but thought I would jump in now and join the party.

We will be on this cruise too - first Disney Cruise. Sailing with my DW, DS (14), DS (11), and DD (8). We would love to meet up and make some new friends. We have tried to do this on past cruises but for whatever reason the meet-n-greets have always fallen apart. I know the kids would be thrilled to meet up with others their age and have some instant friends when we push off.

We are staying at BCV the night before and AKV the night after and we are so looking forward to this vacation. I'll try to get caught up with the plans but count us in for a meet-n-greet!

Welcome! We will also be at the BCV the night before. Maybe we will start our meet on the bus over to the port I can't believe how fast it is coming.

Thanks dlander! We would love to meet you guys but I don't think we are going to take Disney bus to the port. We still have so much to do to prepare for this trip and transportation is one of them (no air yet either!). We are looking at limo service which seems to run about $240 r/t vs $350 Disney for family of 5.

The kids want to hang at the pool on the 20th since the last time we stayed at BCV it was Dec. and the temps were too cold for swimming. At some point in the evening we are planning to head over to DD for Cuban sandwiches at Bongos (yummmm).

Maybe we could meet up by the pool or Beaches n Cream???

we are on the waitlist for BCV- right now at AKL 3 nights before and VWL for 1 night after.
we love Beaches and Cream!
We always get our own transportation. It is cheaper and you have control over when you get to the port. My son will be 15 when we cruise. I bought air about 1 month ago since it was going up and of course it has gone down twice since purchase- just my luck

Welcome Tony! DW and I have a DS (15) and a DS (11), and are traveling with friends with children ranging from 8 to 12. Being from SE WI, our kids at least have common weather experiencesto start with!
We are staying at OKW the night before (we need a Grand Villa for all of us) but maybe we'll bump into you even earlier on one of our many visitsto Doorway To Dreams (Chicagoland isn't that big, you must always be there, right?)for our DVC fix.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Really looking forward to meeting you all. Sounds like there is no shortage of "friends" for the kids. We have taken 2 cruises in the past on Carnival and my oldest son pretty much disappeared until dinner while the younger 2 hung on us like wet shirts. We couldn't get them to go to the kids clubs to save our lives. We love our kids but it would have been nice to have some adult time too.

Beth - do you recomend any private transportation companies?

Bob - We love Doorway to Dreams! We only live about 10 minutes away and it's a must stop when ever we are at Woodfield. My wife was talking to one of the cast members there the other day and was told they are going to start the transformation to an Aluani villa in the next couple months.

Sky - we are neighbors! How cool! We live in Arlington Heights. How far "western burbs" are you guys?

we have used FL Tours the past few cruises and been very pleased with them. Had used Happy Limo at one time but had a few issues there.

We live in Bloomingdale, so just up the road from you. Are you DVC also? Do you go to the member events at Doorway to Dreams at Woodfield? We'll be there today and I'm going to ask if there are any events coming up.

No shortage of teens on this trip...and a nice chance for kids to make new friends that they may get to keep!
