Dream - 3 Night 1/16/2014 to Bahamas

Jodi, I have added you to the list.

Does anyone have a cut off day for when we don't want to add anymore cabins to the FE list? Right now we have 15 cabins.

2 weeks before would be good for a cutoff, I think.

Also, for the names that are gender neutral, could we have an idea if they are boys or girls? I would hate to guess wrong! :confused3

We just signed up for this cruise..:thumbsup2:banana:

Can we get the most updated list of cruisers. I am making personalized gifts. :)

I added what I knew about genders. If I'm wrong or missing some let me know so I can update the list.

This is our first Disney cruise. Can't wait to get aboard. New to the whole FE thing, I guess we would like to do it as well. Need to learn more about what to do.

We just switched from a longer Royal cruise to a shorter Disney cruise due to the military rates being so low!

We were supposed to cruise on Royal in March but just couldn't pass up these prices. Was able to get my (older) DD and her husband on the same cruise under Florida Resident rates which were also fairly cheap as well. It is her birthday and Christmas present.

My DS (age 12) doesn't know about the cruise and we won't tell him until we are on our way to port! And DH doesn't know that DD and SIL are coming too! :rolleyes1 Should make for an interesting family cruise.

I have been on the Dream before. I loved...except for the food. I was really disappointed with the MDR experiences. I have heard it hasn't improved by much but at least I know that going in to this so I can make sure my breakfast and lunch are my main meals of the day. If I can get a decent soup and/or salad out of dinner I should be good to go. :thumbsup2

I did the FE last time we were on the Dream and I kind of over did it and really stressed myself out (and spent too much money) so I am going to pass on it this time. I can send a photo of my FE in case anyone needs to know what they look like. For gifts for the FE, you can do ones for the entire stateroom, something that everyone would enjoy. I tried to customize mine depending on adults vs. children/gender, etc. Yeah, that got too be alittle too much but I did do one BIG FE (didn't even fit IN the FE actually) bag rather than multiple smaller ones. The ones I received that I enjoyed were: bags of candy (helped not to have to buy the expensive stuff in the ship store and helped with hunger pains!), Disney personalized ornament (was right before Christmas), personalized Disney/cruise magnet for the door (still have it and I'm going to use it again!), and small fun toys for my DS. Hope that helps with suggestions.

Also, as there are quite a few first-timers, there are also door decorations (magnets) that we did up and I think I have photos of those if anyone needs ideas for those too. We ended up printing most of ours on magnetized printer 'paper' and they turned out just fine. We kept them all and we are going to use them again. I don't think we had room for anymore but DH is insisting on printing more!

If anyone has questions, just ask away! :cool1:

Oh, and an issue we had when handing out the FEs the first day was that alot of the fellow Disboarders that had signed up ended up moving cabins. So when you went to go drop off the FE gift, it was the wrong cabin and it was difficult to figure out where they ended up. I see quite a few who are, like myself, in GTY so you may not know until the last minute which cabin you are in. Possibly even after you are able to post back here with your updated info.

For example, on the last cruise we went on, one cabin had a TON of FE gifts waiting outside the cabin door and it wasn't even anyone who had signed up (since the original Disboard member had moved cabins!). I'm sure the lucky recipient was quite happy with all of these random gifts just appearing at their cabin door for no apparent reason! :rotfl:

I would suggest that you have a planned meet up time (like 3pm, right before muster) in a set location so everyone can share their updated cabin locations (if needed). Or have one person to report to with your updated information and just plan on sending out an corrected list once you get on board.

Anyway, just a suggestion from my own personal 'lessons learned'. pirate:

The countdown is on (ok it was on already!)....3 weeks from today until we depart for our cruise! :cool1:

Oh, forgot in my last posts, good luck to all that are running in the Disneyworld Marathon. My DH previously did the Goofy Challenge (2 years in a row) but decided not to do it this year. He took too long trying to decide between the Goofy Challenge and the new Dopey Challenge that they sold out on both before he could sign up!

BUT not having paid that money allowed us to go on the cruise instead so I'm not upset at all. I told him he can do the 5K on Castaway Cay instead. He said this was going to be the most expensive 5K he has ever done. :rotfl:

Where and when do we sign up for the Castaway Cay 5K? Both my son and I would like to do it!!!! :cool1:

According to the navigator you need to go to the Port Adventures Desk before we get to Castaway Cay (so embarkation day or nassau day) and sign up there. It's free but I guess since you get off the ship before everyone else they need to know who all is participating.

They gave us a water bottle last time (I think) for running. I believe it was in our cabin later that day. I could be wrong, I'll have to double check with DH. But I don't know if they do anything for it now as that was 2 years ago. It used to be fairly unofficial but I've seen actual maps of the 5K route posted recently.

AND the day of (according to a recent Navigator)....at 8:15am you will need to be at Evolution Deck 4 (Aft), to meet and depart ship so you can make way your way to the Bike Rental location where the run begins.

Enjoy!
