Hey!

Thanks for offering to help others. I have a couple of questions; I'm going on my honeymoon in January. What is January like weather wise and also crowds wise? I've always gone in December during CHristmas week as well as in August. Also, do you by any chance know how someone can be a parade marshall? This is my future husband's first time in Disney World and I want it to be amazing and extra magical! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I am planning a Mickey Themed party for my son the end of september and was looking for a way to purchase the kids meal plates they sell in walt disney world. Thanks Sid! I booked my reservations through a TA. Got the whole Disney package deal (resort, tickets, air travel, dining) and DH and I are staying at CSR for our 25th wedding anniversary in February (and also my birthday!) I have read several posts recommending the best area and rooms to try to get at CSR and asked my TA to request non-smoking, King bed, waterview, upper floor in Casitas or Cabanas. When I got my confirmation letter from TA, it said "King, waterview, 2nd or 3rd floor Casitas". How close do the room assigners look at this? Do I call my TA and have her make sure non-smoking is on there and somehow word that Cabanas will be fine also. Do I call a few days before and re-request where we want to be? I know I am probably being too worried about this but I just want it to be a special time for DH and myself and would love a nice quiet lakeview room. How much do I bug my TA? Thanks for any input.

congrats on celebrating the honeymoon with us!!! as for weather-wise, i'm going to admit that i can be cool during the day (60's), but the range on it has been warmer. don't worry, all the pools are heated, so it's ok. as for the Marshal at the parade, that's a really good question, and you do have me stumped. the only thing i could think of is give our Guest Services a call, and they may know. i wish i could be further knowledgeable on that, but unfortunately, my omnipotence only goes so far. =)

thanks for trying to e-mail me, but you can send me a private message, and it should be fine. for the plates, i would assume that they could be sold at the Disney stores down on property. granted, that's an assumption. the only other thing i could think of is trying to give our Dining line a call (407-939-3463), and they may be able to help you out. i wish i got more of these abnormal questions over the phone so i'd know the answer a lot better. =)

if my memory serves me correctly, king-bed rooms at Coronado Springs are non-smoking, so adding that comment would be redundant. to double check on that, call the DRC (407-934-7639) and just ask that specific question. as for where your room is going to be located, the only people that would know would be Coronado Springs, but that's not until you get close to check-in. when we have requests like those, we try to accommodate what we can do. for example (but a non accurate one), say the king beds are all located in Cabanas, your request to have them possibly at the Casitas wouldn't work due to the set location of the bedding. unfortunately, i'm not at work today due to it being a day off, so i cannot double check my information, but, as i said, when in doubt, call our office to check. it's better to be safe than sorry, you know? oh, and don't worry about bugging your travel agent. their job is to make your trip as best as they can, so you're doing your part to follow up on it. now, to kind of follow up on that, since you did book through an agent, the only person that could assist you in making modifications, requests, etc. would be the agent since they were the ones that booked it through their systems. =)

Hi Sid...I have a question (your opinion)...Do you think it is better to make a "bare bones request for a room (eg:Medical non-smoking..and then hoping for the best) or call up and ask for 5-6 different requirements. BTW we are DVC members if that makes any difference in your opinion . Thanks I think you thread is a wonderful resource!!! aw:

I guess my question wasn't really clear. Basically I was wondering if you think you get a better room by making a laundry list of requests or just the truly essential one (in our case Medical Non-smoking, due to 2 children with asthma). As a former hotel owner, I just always hated at multi list of requests, because it seemed like you might never be able to please or meet all the requests a customer was making. I was just wondering if in Disney's case where they are used to a high volume/demand, that it might not matter to them or that they also prefered lower demanding customers also.

as far as i've heard, it's a full renovation. i can check tomorrow while at work to get the exact details, but as of now, that's what i've heard.

you can make a laundry list of requests, but the chances of finding the room that's going to have them all is going to be a small one. some of the requests, however, may not be needed to make because they might already have them as a standard amenity (i.e. fridges at the Moderate resorts, etc.). if i knew 1) what resort you were staying at, and 2) the list of requests, i could help you possibly narrow it down so the resort isn't looking at Santa's wishlist. ;-)
