Did the drawing class end along with the Festival of Arts earlier this month? I was hoping the class would stick around a little longer!

I only saw a basket weaving class during the art festival. If there was a drawing clas, it was only during the festival.

The only drawing classes now are at art of animation resort. The class at HS closed to make way for the Star Wars Launch Bay

I am going to have to head to AOA then. I so enjoyed the class at HS and was looking forward to it again. Glad to know it is offered somewhere. Is there a set schedule or just anytime during the day?

Killing the HS Animation Class was one of the most brutal & short-sighted decisions WDW ever made. A hidden gem at first with little wait, but by the last year, I waited over an hr in line because of the world of mouth popularity. But it was incredible & one of the most beautiful, magical experiences at WDW. The animators leading the session were kind, gentle & incredibly gifted. They would single out children & their art for applause. One of the most lamented & lost experiences of the past decade. I don't think WDW ever lurks on the DIS to discover guest input or reaction. But if a WDW lurker reads this message: bring this back NOW. The World of good vibes & good will your company could create for children alone & youngsters striving to become animators would be worth it. Carve out a space in a park & just do it. We are waiting. Walt is waiting. WDW forgets that young animators & artists are its future. It's a future that WDW ignores at it's peril.

This, this, this, this, THIS x 1,000,000,000!!! My girls and I miss this class so very much and I agree 100% with EVERYTHING you said. The girls loved learning how to draw so many favorites, we would sometimes do upwards of 3 classes in a row by getting right back in line when we exited the drawing room! So awesome....we have followed along with the few videos you can find on YouTube and the Disney Parks Blog, but it isn't the same.....just seeing the paper with the two holes and the HS studio logo was so exciting for my girls!! We have never done the class at AOA, because it seems out of the way to get to just for a class when there are so many other things they want to do. I've heard that there is a similar class at DisneyQuest, but that it is a digital pad and you can purchase a printout of your drawing if you would like to bring it home. Sigh. I miss this so much. I really hoped they would have moved it somewhere else in the park, or even to one of the empty buildings in Epcot....it would be a very welcome and magical treat to find it operational again!!

Thanks to everyone for posting about this and the info. I will have to head over to AoA next trip just for this! I had thought it was gone forever when they axed it at DHS.

I do not want to sound crazy, but is this only for children, or can adults join in?
Anyone can do it Rob, last visit there I saw a father daughter combo who were mid 40's and mid teens. Her drawing was definitely better than mine.

Thank you for the reassurance! I would not have wanted to look crazy if we made the trip over there :D

This was one of our favorites, also! They boys would go ride Star Tours over and over again, and my daughter and I would draw. One of my favorite pics of her was taken while she was drawing there. We were devastated when it closed. There's no way we're leaving a park to hoof it over to AoA for a class. But if they offered one in the parks again it would be high on our list of "to do's."

to answer your question. The animation class is gone :( was there yesterday for the 1st day of F&G and made a point to go to Innoventions just to check

There is an animation class at Epcot, in the Innovations building (or at least there was during the recent Festival of the Arts). We went a couple of weeks ago and did the class. Next to the color exhibit.
