Dramamine Vs Bonine

neither dramamine nor bonine work for me (not even the non-drowsy kind) - were recently in disney, rode expedition everest - ugh - spent the rest of the day in the hotel room, nauseous - ginger pills don't work for me, either - guess i'm just meant to be the one sitting on the bench at the exit or browsing the gift shop (and staying off questionable rides) - oh well....

But after reading on another post about cruising where they were both recommended, I checked at our local Drug Store and they carried both. They even had the Ginger in chewing gum.

I bought Altoids Ginger once thinking those would be great for a trip, but I didn't like the taste of them.

has anyone else tried them?!?

Dramamine chewable can be given to kids. Get some from your local pharmacy over the counter.
Good luck

Yes Bonine and non-drowsy Dramamine are the same drug and they are NOT recommended for children. Dramamine is fine for kids but will make them sleepy. I have exteme motion sickness and I use Dramamine. I tried Bonine once and it made me feel terrible, like I had concrete blocks tied to each limb all day long. I am scared to take it again! I have used the patches once and they were fine, but also for adults only. I may try ginger for little rides, but I have a feeling it would not work for me for bigger stuff (NOBODY has motion sickness as bad as I do! I can't even swing on a swing!!)
I would say if your kids have never gotten sick on a car or boat ride they will probably be fine in the plane unless it is real bumpy and they are real nervous. None of my kids get sick on anything. I have never given them anything "just in case" I always just wait to see and they are fine. It is good to be prepared though!

There is a product called MotionEaze that is all natural and really works well. You place a drop behind your ear and the motionsickness goes away. I am a scuba diver who gets very seasick. If the water is choppy I use this product. If the ocean is really rough I use Transderm Scop which is a prescription patch that goes behind your ear as well.
