Any highly motion sickness prone people ridden Mission Space with Dramamine? Did it work?

I get motion sickness quite easy and I am hoping the Dramamine will work while I am there! :p :p :p

I was thinking of doing this too, since I get motion sick on Body Wars/Star Tours.

I was planning to ask this too--you beat me to it!
Though I was wondering if it worked for ANY rides, not just mission space. Otherwise, I can't tolerate anything that goes in circles, except maybe Dumbo!

I haven't ridden Mission Space, but I've had better luck with motion problems when I take meclizine (known as Bonine).

You can buy a large bottle of meclizine at Wal-Mart for just a couple of dollars. I don't have any problems with drowsiness, but some folks say it makes them sleepy (Dramamine does, too).

Try some at home before you leave, just to make sure.

I just got back from WDW and got a chance to ride on Mission Space. I do not think that the ride was that bad. I think the Rock and Roll Roller Coaster provided more stomach churning turns. It was a great ride though with awesome visuals!!!!:earsgirl:

Thanks Heidi... I haven't ridden Rock and Roller Coaster either, because of my motion sickness tolerance, but I plan on riding it in September (along with MS), assuming the Dramamine, Bonine, or whatever motion sickness pill I take works.

I am a Coaster Lover who suffers from Motion Sickness (well, after having my son - before that, no problems)
I take 1 Less Drowsy Dramanine (same as Bonine) before a day of riding. It's worked for me for Body Wars, Star Tours, RnRC, ToT, plus several other non-Disney Coasters, some quite large....

I don't generally push the spinning thing - I'm really more into drops & inversions. I also add a 4 mg. Zofran (anti-emetic) before any hyper-coasters......

I plan to try my luck on Mission:Space. It hasn't NOT worked yet, so I think it'll be fine......

Good Luck!

DH and younger DD rode MS last week. DH actually rode it twice, and said that it didn't bother him at all. Younger DD who rides RNR with no problem, said it made her dizzy.

Older DD always takes Bonine before riding TOT and RNR. She said it makes a world of difference on those rides for her. However, she and I chickened out of MS. Although everyone says you don't feel the spinning, I just didn't want to take the chance.

cindala, I see you've stuck with the Yacht Club for the past couple of years.... any reasons?

DrKnow77,
Location, theming, StormAlong Bay, and all the nearby restaurants keep us coming back to the YC. It also feels like a second home to us. Many of the staff remember us from year to year, and it is like seeing old friends again, catching up on the latest.

Our DD's are teens, and so they also like Epcot and MGM, the two closest parks to the YC, plus you have the Boardwalk just a stone's throw away. It's a great resort! Our favorite!!

First, I only get sick on Body Wars. Given that, do you think Mission Space will bother me? Is it similar in it's movement?

Next, hey...YC (or BC) is our favorite too! Won't stay anywhere else ever again. Same reasons Cindala stated except the teenager thing. We're a kidless couple and find it to be perfect for us.

What a short walk to Epcot and Mission Space.

You might want to also try ginger pill in addition. They settle your stomach naturally.

Different things trigger motion sickness in people. I can handle any roller coaster or motion platform ride (like Body Wars), but you spin me around enough and I'll be running for the nearest toilet, bush, or waste basket. I'm eyeing MS as a "I think I'm going to regret this!" attraction.

DS has to take bromine the whole trip to ride anything!!! What helps him is to take it at night. It last 24 hours so it's still works the next morning, but less sleepy side effects. He does fine on simulator type rides and coasters (with the bromine!!) but has trouble with things that spin a lot like the tea cups, or astro orbitor. Think we are going to try MS. I would like to know more about the Zofran. Is it over the counter? Ok for kids (11yr old)? Do you take in just before certain rides? Thanks for any help.
