Drama, Drama, Drama...

I have 3 DD's & there can be drama. However, DH & I are pretty no nonsense people & we will literally look at them & say, "Seriously, get over it!" Or when they talk about drama with their friends our comment is, "Stay way, don't get involved, it does no good."

I sometimes think the way a parent or others reacts can create more drama than there really is or is necessary.

I am also glad that I don't have girls on a full time basis.:faint: B

Yes, girls can be very dramatic, but they are also so incredibly loving in a way that is very different from boys. I have two of each and love them all but wouldn't trade my girls-ever-even with the drama!

Not sure why this is being questioned but, if you really want to know, she's in a performing arts high school - acceptance is conditional on both audition and academic excellence. She worked her 'rear' off to get in there and is very proud of her theater 'major.'

Not sure on why it's such a big deal to ask a question - didn't know if your daughter was one of those geniuses who get into college early - which is generally what the term "major" refers to :thumbsup2

Yay for performance arts high schools :cheer2:

I teach preschool... some girls are BORN dramatic. Honestly, if I hadn't witnessed some of the things these 3, 4, 5 year old girls do, I wouldn't believe it!! One girl noticed all the other girls in the preschool class had blue or green eyes, except for ONE girl... all the blue & green eyed girls were invited to her bday party except the brown eyed girl. Brown eyed girl, sweet as pie, was crying her little brown eyes out. This is what preschool kids do - they threaten others by "inviting" or "not inviting" others to their bdays! Of coarse, their bdays are never coming up, and no parent in their right mind would not invite a kid b/c of their eye color.

OP, I wish your son well. And I hope, for his sake, his girlfriend tones down the drama. She needs to be supportive and encouraging. Not whining about missing him, guilting him about being gone, etc.

I'm always confused by comments like this. I only have girls. I own a dance studio so in my line of work what I'm surrounded by are 99.9% of girls. I'm used to dealing with girls.

I would have loved to have a boy but the powers that be blessed me with girls. When I'm around my nephews I see that they are different than girls, but I've never felt like, "I'm so glad I only have girls & don't have any boys." I love seeing the way little boys are different from little girls.

From my perspective & what I "see" boys are much more rambunctious than girls. They are rougher, dirtier, tougher & more active. I'm not used to that, but given the chance I would have loved to raise a son even if it meant frogs, toads & snakes in pockets, muddy clothes & a few broken windows from a baseball coming through it.

Not all girls are whiny drama queens & I'm sure not all boys are rough & tumble dirt mongers! I think when you have only same sex children some people tend to see the other sex & notice how different the 2 are & think, "Wow, thank goodness I only had girls (or only had boys)."

Yes, boys & girls are different. ;)

Wow, I really appreciate everyone's response. I am also glad that I don't have girls on a full time basis.:faint: BTW ,I asked my mother this morning if I was like this and she said no but she remembers clearly a friend of mine that was. So, maybe I'm weird who knows.
My boys are so funny though. She was having one of her slight meltdowns last night and my youngest (13) was like "Get over it already":laughing:

My DD is INFINITELY easier then our boys. We don't have drama, just strong personalities and the 'mom and dad don't know anything' syndrome with the boys.
