Hmmm....just seen the interview David Tennant had on "Newsround". All rather good. Mentioned how "Am I bovvered" stitched him up etc. Spoke about Kylie. Everything was very relaxed.
Then....
The direct question was asked whether he was leaving Dr Who. He answered "No". However, it was the way he answered "no". His hand went straight to his left ear and started scratching it rather nervously. For any of you who have done a little psychology (along with the scratching of the back of head), this is a very defensive, "you're stepping into my territory, move away please" involuntary reaction.
Methinks "Am I bovvered" may, after all, have let a little cat slip out of the bag. Now all I need is a TARDIS to travel forward a couple of years to see what really happens.
Very perceptive, he does do that a lot though, and whilst I never thought Catherine Tate knew anything she just opened the mouth and said the first thing that came into it, you have to read between the lines.
David, booked up hamlet before they said about series 5, that stopped it in its tracks.
Working around that they agreed 3 specials and one Christmas one in 2009.
In the summer they said that was with David.
If he committed now, he wouldn't have any bargaining position with salary etc.
He doesn't have to commit until early 2009 for 2010.
He is doing loads of other things so isn't type cast as yet, a bit like Peter Davidson and idol for him, he did other things like ''All creatures great and small'' at the same time.
David really likes Doctor Who and its winning so many awards.
My guess is he will go at the end of the 2009 specials, based on this, but there is a chance they could convince him to do some or all of 2010, but that would be it.
Its not John Simm, and with rumors Russell TD will go as well after 2009, maybe the new boss will decide.
The current interesting thing is why are so many Doctor assistants are being lineded up in series 4. Jack, Rose, Martha ( now working for UNIT), Sarah-Jane?
