Did anyone happen to watch Dr. Phil last night where he had a father accused of molesting his 3 year old daughter? He denied all charges, but failed a lie detector test. You could tell by watching him he was lying the entire time.

It made me so mad. If this guy ever gets to spend time alone with his daughter again, I will have lost all hope for our justice system. The guy made me sick to my stomach.

I watched the first show, but not the one where he failed the lie detector. I found out from someone that even though he failed the first test they allowed him to take another one and he passed. From what I understand, there was no real solution to the case other than mediation. I was covinced the dad was lying by the way he answered Dr. Phil's questions. But when I found out they allowed him to take another test and nothing happened but mediation, it made me mad so I skipped yesterday's show.

That guy seemed creepy from the start and of course he did it! What father would take that long to answer the question if he had kissed his daughter in the mouth :crazy2:  :faint:

I happened to watch that show a few days ago. And it made me sick to my stomach also. That poor little girl needs to be placed somewhere safe until they can figure out what's really happening with her. sick sick sick people in this world.. :sad2:

At some point there is to be a follow-up to this show (there have been 3 episodes already).. The father has since passed a second lie detector test and has agreed to undergo hypnosis as well..

Anyone else wonder about the grandfather - considering he had already been arrested for fondling a child?

The whole thing is creepy.. Will be interesting to see how it turns out..

I agree- I caught most of the first show. Not a sane adult in the bunch.

As for the lie detector- big deal- pass/fail? They can be manipulated. If the guy is as sick as it appears he is. He can lie well, and it may not be detected-right?

Dr.Phil is a mandated reporter - and reported this issue to the Child Protective Services in the town where these people live.. I'm sure the father will not be having visitation rights until a final decision is made..

I watched this last week. At the end of the show Dr. Phil did say that he'd taken another test & passed it. He did NOT say whether it was done by the same staff who conducted the first one. I suspect he might have used someone (on his own) who had less experience at detecting methods for which this guy was originally trying to throw off Dr. Phil's test... that's just my opinion & I have no information to back it up, other than I think the guy is guilty as sin...

That was what convinced me that he was probably lying. If you are asked, "Did you put your tongue in your daughter's mouth at her birthday party?"--would you really need to search your memory for that long? Hmm...well, let me think about that...

I felt so badly for that poor little girl--especially with her stepmother insisting that she leave immediately at the pickup. Would it really kill her to give the kid a couple of minutes to acclimate? Also, insisting that the little girl call her "mommy" got on my nerves, as well.

I know that during the show Dr. Phil had the dad agree to supervised visits for the lenght of the tapeing, but I don't know if it extended past that. I'd imagine it would if it got reported to the county/state where these people live. I hope so! :( Poor little girl!

I watched the last part of this story last night and nowhere did Dr. Phil mention anything about another lie detector test.

Did I miss something?

Hmm, maybe your show cut it off, I think it was at the very end after he'd walked off the stage, there was a voice over or something.... it was definitely at the end when I thought the show was already over....

I missed that! I thought the dad was guilty, too, just by his hesitations to answer the questions. Now I really believe it. If it would by any chance be the grandfather (with the father being innocent), that father would be accusing his own father, don't you think?

Well another interesting thing that seemed to fly by underneath the radar is that the little girl kept saying "they" touched her pee pee.. I don't believe for one minute that the father's girlfriend/wife was involved so who would "they" be? Grandfather and son??

I certainly hope that sometime in the future Dr. Phil reveals what Child Protective Services have determined.. Of course I'll probably end up missing that show - or announcment - so if anyone else hears it, please post it here..

Didn't watch it but I really want to get this out. Lie detectors are a bunch of bull. They are not reliable. Not only can you easily manipulate them (if you know how), but they have a very high rate of false FAIL readings. If you are not guilt of something I would say NEVER take one. If you fail, you'll be branded a liar no matter what else you say or do. If you're guilty take it because then if you fail you can use the above argument, but you might be able to pass. So it's a win win for the guilty, and a big chance of lose for the innocent.

Doesn't mean the dude ain't guily though.

The guy that did the intial test did them for the FBI for decades. He said they have a 92% accuracy rate when conducted properly. The tester said the dad did try to manipulate the test several times and in several differant ways but the tester put a stop to that. The mom and her mother passed with flying colors (mom only showed "lieing" when asked if she encouraged daughter to accuse dad, otherwise she passed, grandma passed all questions).

I have no idea about the second test done, I didn't even know there was a 2nd test until I read it here, I don't usually watch the last 5 minutes since it's usually just a show recap and advice on where to get help if you are a viewer that needs it.
