Dr. Jones and the Spitting Camel - Link to Alaska Cruise TR 9/18

:lmao: He will be a successful businessman one day! :thumbsup2

Marv wrote about picking up biscuits at Harvee's (or something similar...)

Ah, not sure what Harvee's is but there are a few (very few up here, lots more back in Chicago) places you can run out and pick them up to go.

Ah Evan. More than one teacher as commented that he'll either be a CEO or...be in jail. Or make a good politician.

:rotfl:

Tutto looks sooooooo good -- it is now officially on the list for a grownups' night in April!

:thumbsup2 for grownups night!

I hear ya about the breakfast vs. touring thing. I love breakfast food, but it's so hard to sacrifice the park time! If only they served it until later in the day...

I  brunch for that very reason.

At least he waited till after you got the food to tell you there was a charge for it.

Oh I knew he was up to something...the boy doesn't have brown eyes for nothing!

and i bet that after you paid him, you gave him the bill for the "rent" on the kitchen he used, and the bill for the electric/gas he used.

:lmao: That would have been outstanding! Not to mention a bill for the actual ingredients.

No...I paid him.

One cent.

But did drive him, and his brother to 2 rather self serving errands that they'd been asking for, for a couple of weeks. His strategic sucking up worked.

I saw this:

And laughed pretty hard.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Then saw this:

And nearly spit out my coffee. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

A picture of his "bill" is on facebook, it really was pretty darn funny. Gotta give the kid props. With deduction for horrible writing and spelling on the bill though. :scared1: Suffice to say that English is NOT one of the honors classes we are signing him up for, for jr. high. Which, registration for is next month. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Of course Eric did the same thing after his piano performance at Thanksgiving, went around asking for tips. If memory serves he made a program ahead of time and noted at the bottom that tips were accepted. He did a lot better than Evan but he had a larger audience (that had a greater sucker factor).

OMG what a day so far!

I'm glad everyone it into WS and was happy! So how did it feel to go bagless? I did it a few times in Oct and it felt liberating! LOL!!

WOW! That really does sound like the best lunch ever! Now I'm hungry and thirsty! I must agree, I find it a tiny bit odd that something so good comes from a giant plastic bottle (I've seen them pour that sucker into the machine!) but boy oh boy it's yummy! I also agree about the Grey Goose winning in a landslide over the Grand Mariner! I've had both and I love me some GG!!! Actually, the party through the parks website had a recipe! I shall be hitting the liquor store sometime in the very near future!!!!!

Oh I LOVE it! Except for the fact that I end up with a lot less pictures. :rotfl:

YUM! Happydog shared a lemon fizz recipe that is almost a creamy version of it I think. Vodka, lemonade concentrate and cream. YUM! I've never seen a fifth of vodka disappear so fast in my life.

I really want the recipe for that PLEASE! That sounds like just the thing for our Meet!! Which of, BTW, we need to talk about. Can you PM your # again??

I'll dig it up but I want to say it's, a can, a can, a can. Meaning a can of frozen concentrate, a can of vodka, a can of cream. Blend with Ice. I'll double check but oh they are SO good!

Is your cell number the same as in Aug? I can just text you my # unless yours changed.

i didnt think of that but it would have been a nice touch...at least he knows how to smooth over the ladies to get what he wants as well.

MMMMMMMM. You've convinced me.

Never been to ANY of the restaurants in France, but I think it will need to be added to my list. Wow, that baguette looked fantastic.

We are going to Les Chef's in May, I'm excited, I'd never been to any of them either as Jeff is a bit anti French, so it was nice to get my fix and he could eat elsewhere!

Still. I REALLY wanted to do the WL tour and raced into the lobby at 9:05 to find Ranger Joe with a family of 3.

The family of 3 couldn’t do a full hour tour and Ranger Joe offered to do a condensed 30 minute version, which worked perfectly for me! It wasn’t ideal but it sure as heck was better than no tour at all and gave me a little breathing room for packing, baggage movement and pictures.

You can get a tour of the WL? Do you have to schedule it? what is the process? we would love that!!

Hi! They offer it daily in the Lobby at 9am I believe. I'd double check with the Lodge but am pretty sure that it is daily. I have the info somewhere. It's free and open to anyone, just look for Ranger Joe!

I am very envious of your bagless morning. Someday I hope to skip blithely through the park gates with nothing more than my KTTW card and a lip gloss.

Count me in amongst the envious. Got to do it over the summer at a concert that I went to with my BFF & her DH ---no kids. it was a beautiful thing!

Oh that's a great idea! Ladies....we must do that. I love that idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ooh that sounds like a fun plan....

I am almost caught up now. I am so enjoying your TR.....and so glad my boss is off today so as to not catch me catching up on the Dis!

Whew. I was about to call a major foul on passing the champagne/slushie stand in France when you redeemed yourself and returned. That was a close call. I can assure you that we shall not be passing the stand by in May. :rolleyes1 No matter how many times we may walk by. :upsidedow

I always forget about France as a snack/lunch option. I heard they are doing a renovation on the bakery to improve the flow of customers through the lines. Putting that baguette on my list as is the cheese plate. I love sitting back in the area behind the perfume shop. Always so quiet and sometimes you see Princess Aurora coming out.

Capt Eo in May after a few WS drinks sounds like a plan!! :)

Hurray for contagious contentment. May we all encounter more of that in our trips! :goodvibes

Ditto!!! Christine- when are you going? early may?

Now that I know EXACTLY where the slushies :thumbsup2are, I'm all there! I"m even adding it to my touring plan, i don't care what unflattering booze related :dancer:names my DH call me. Sounds like lunch in france, slushies, then take the ferry back over the lake to see Captain EO!:cheer2:

It is a wonderful thing, I plan to do it as much as possible in may!

Christine and I, and 4 other fabulous DISers are going together! Thankfully slushies are a shared passion.

You will really enjoy it! Mary Ellen (MEK) did a full tour on her last trip and has a great (better than mine) write up of it and some KILLER pictures. She got to go on the roof!!! When you check in, it should show on the weekly list of activities print out thing they give you. I realize there is a name for it (wilderness lodge gazette? :confused3) but you get the idea.

Popping in to say hi! I'm behind on all my TRs, but I'm still here!

you are just a wealth of info!!! DH & I caught the last hour of the program Walt: the Man behind the Myth...and of course then I started telling him about your post of the tour & Ranger Joe. I teased him a bit because I wouldn't tell him about the Ranger's fav hidden Mickey :)

Christine and I, and 4 other fabulous DISers are going together! Thankfully slushies are a shared passion.

That sounds freakin' awesome!!! I know you will have a blast. And I now have DH also anxiously anticipating the grey goose slushies!!! yippee...he's prone to giggling at WDW anyway so add a grey goose and LOOK OUT!!! :)

Bagless in the park. THAT is bliss!!! I did that a few times on our December 2009 trip because FIL & MIL were with, so Henry was with them! It was amazing to just walk through. :cloud9:

That apple tart is high on my list of things to try. I just posted about our visit to the little bakery and while I chose what I was wanting for that particular day, looking back at the pictures I'm kicking myself! That apple tart looks AWESOME. It wasn't overly sweet, right? Sweet, yet savory?

And I'm not a big fan of cheese on sandwiches, but sometimes I do like it with ham. I just might have to try that sandwich...good bread makes a sandwich usually!

How is it that I keep missing your updates? I think I have to get my head out from under that darn rock again (or maybe it was from being buried in the snow?). ;)

In any event, I am back. That ham sandwich looks absolutely delightful and right up my alley. I definitely think that will be on the list come September. I had the Grand Marnier slushie, but not the Grey Goose one. Do you prefer one over the other?

I kept thinking; What the heck kind of vodka comes in a can?? :confused3 OMG, I"m so blonde (not)!! What a doofus!1

OK, got it, a CAN of each (IN the lemonade can, doy), and they WILL be served liberally while you're all here.

Yes! Text me your number, we need to get rolling on a plan. same as before.
