Does anyone use this soap? I picked up a couple of bottles the other day at the store as they were on sale....the sales girl said some people have replaced all soaps in their house with Bronner's.

So far I've tried it for my laundry...seems OK. And I've tried it on my hair....really, really not OK. :scared1: Will not be repeating that mistake.

So I guess I'm wondering...what do you use it for? and how much do you use for a specific purpose?

Also, any info if it's OK to use in a front loading HE washing machine?

Always have it in the house. Use it to... bathe, heh. I'd use it for hand washing but it's expensive as heck for that. I think she meant for soaps not for cleaning products but I dunno, maybe people use it in to clean stuff...this'll be interesting. :surfweb:

You might use the baby one on your hair but yeah, it's real soap, it'll strip the heck out of every oil on there.

Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap showers in the summer keep me from harming people. ;)

I did..it was OK for laundry but bad for skin/hair use for me as well. Very very drying. I tried to make sure I was using it right but it didn't seem to be a good fit so after the one bottle I bought I never bought it again.

I've been using it for about 35 years now. I use the peppermint and the almond. I just use it for bathing - I put a small amount on a sponge and scrub away

Yes I use them, right now I have the citrus orange one. I use it for general cleaning. In the bathroom I make a paste of the castille soap and baking soda. It cleans very well and rinses easily.

I've been using it for over 25 years, and I love the stuff. I have very sensitive skin and it does not bother my skin at all. I buy the peppermint usually.

I put it full strength in a dispenser in my shower, and we use a puffy ball with it. I mix it about 1/5 with water and put it in a foaming hand soap dispenser in our bathrooms for washing hands (goes a long way that way, great with kids). We mix it up something like 1/10 with water and keep it in the kitchen for getting greasy stuff off of whatever, and for washing cabinets, walls, etc. Works great for washing the overhead fan blades when they get dusty and cruddy.

I've never tried using it in the washing machine, but I don't see why you couldn't. I don't because frankly All is a whole lot cheaper than Doc Bronners is. :confused3

Years ago the bottles had recipes all over them for mixing it up for various purposes, up to and including birth control. I kid you not. The idea is that conception can only occur at a certain PH. Change the PH, no conception. Sounds good in theory, but I was never brave enough to actually try it. :rotfl:

This.

I bought the castille soap and it was just way too harsh for my skin. I can't imagine what it did to your hair. I never bothered to buy it again. :confused3

Love the peppermint! I keep it in my kitcvhen and in the bathrooms diluted.
