What's the best way to utilize the plan without having to pay out of pocket for much of anything?? Doing the plan that get 1 table service , 1 quick service and 1 snack a day . Staying a Monday to a Tuesday , 8 nights , myself and two kids ( 12 & 6) , 6 year old has allergies so can't share a meal with her

Regular Dining plan is a lot of food! You could easily manage to just use your credits and only pay for tips at table service locations.

Buffets are great for those wanting to try lots of everything!

Have you checked out the menus from the dining locations either on the Dis or MDE?

We used our CS for an early lunch and then TS for our dinner. For breakfast use snack credit/ left over dessert or pay OOP

I agree pay Oop for breakfast if you are not going to a breakfast buffet or character dining.

A large breakfast platter can easily feed 2 people. So you and 12yo could share.

Tusker house, Asherus, añd Cape May Cafe are all 1 ts credit and we'll worth it.

Also Fantasmic dining package at Mama Melrose is worth checking out. Be sure to note food allergy via phone for reservation. It is also 1 ts credit

personally this is how my family utilizes the credits.

-breakfast: we are not big eaters early in the AM so generally we bring something from home like pop tarts, fruit and grain bars, or my new favorite belvita soft baked breakfast.
or many times we will have a dessert from the day before left over that we just could not eat so we have that for breakfast.
there are very few times that we actually go to the food court and get breakfast but if we do we pay out of pocket for it cuz breakfast is generally the least expensive meal of the day ESPECIALLY if you're just getting something like a piece of fruit and a drink instead of a full meal.

-lunch: table service meal OR quick service meal

-snack: generally we end up with a drink of some kind since we are thirsty. my choice is usually chocolate milk while my sister and niece opt for a frozen drink like iced coffee or something from starbucks.

-dinner: table service OR quick service. basically whichever credit we did not use for lunch we use for dinner. although there are SOMETIMES that we use two table services in a day or two quick services in a day.

The best way to not have to pay OOP for much is to share meals with your 12 year old. They are considered an adult on the DP so you will have 2 adult credits & 1 child credit per day. You could share a QS breakfast at your resort(platters are big & plenty to share) & maybe use a snack credit to get your 6 year old something for breakfast. Use your refillable mugs for drinks & get a bottled drink with your QS meal to use for later. Then for lunch make sure you go to a place that has generous portions for sharing (Flame Tree BBQ, Cosmic Rays, etc) or just use snack credits to supplement. For example if you were at BOG you could split a meal & also use a snack credit for french onion soup.

On our last trip my family did a lot of meal sharing. We even shared at many TS restaurants, which allowed us to fit in an extra TS meal. If you did that though it would leave you short a child's TS credit & you would have to pay OOP for your 6 year old's meal at the extra TS resaurant which is what you are trying to avoid.
