I'm quite sure that's possible, but, don't think I would want to invest the time it would take out of my vacation. If you really need to do this you can check the Lynx transportation system. I believe their web address is www.golynx.com The closest Walmart to Downtown Disney is on Route 535 (Apopka-Vineland Road). It's really not that far.....maybe 5 miles.....but, I just don't think there's any easy way to get there via public transportation. If you need groceries, you might be far better off using either Garden Grocer or WeGoShop.....both will deliver directly to most of the hotels surroundings WDW for a nominal fee......probably comparable what it would cost you (financial and timewise) to take public transportation to the grocery yourself. We used to rent a car for every trip and would do our own shopping, however, since WDW Resorts have started Magical Express to/from MCO we rarely rent a car and have used Garden Grocer for several years....even on the trips we do rent a car.....we've been very pleased with their service.
They deliver to Bell Services and Bell services will deliver to your room, from what I understand. Most outside vendors are not allowed to deliver to the room.
Yes, this is the way Garden Grocer works. Perishable items are refrigerated if your groceries need to "wait" until you're ready for delivery to the room. We've used GG in the past and will definitely do so again!
