How bad are crowds on an average day at DTD, after, say 4 o clock. We have to go visit someone elsewhere in Florida one of the days, and are considering going to DTD when we get back to WDW. For shopping, and maybe a light dinner. Do Pleasure Island people impact crowds? If so, what time? The last time we went to DTD at night was back in 94 when it was the old Village Marketplace, so we're pretty curious about this one.

Anytime I have been to downtown Disney its felt like normal shopping crowds to me. Its a little more busy than you average mall but nothing out of the ordinary.

Never been to PI, just Marketplace and West Side.

It isn't bad at that hour of the day. If it is raining it may be more crowded because people aren't going to the park. I was there the other rainy day and it was crowded but it wasn't bad.

Pleasure Island doesn't open until later so I don't think that would make it any more crowded. You also have shopping and restaurants on the West Side you might want to check out. There is a boat that goes between the two areas that can save you some walking.

We usually go to DTD 3 or 4 nights during an 8-9 night stay. To me, the crowds do get larger around Pleasure Island the later it gets. We always go during the summer now and crowds are large everywhere so I guess we just get used to it.

We have been at times and felt like we had the place to ourselves and went back a couple of nights later and found it very crowded. If it is crowded, parking can be a hassle. Other than that, I just go with the flow and enjoy myself!
