We are thinking about going to DTD the day we arrive in Dec. We are staying at the Poly, I read in the Unofficial Guide that it will take almost an hour to get there by Disney bus, but about 15-20 min by car. I really don't want to drive , but if it saves this much times may be worth it. Is this true??

That bus time estimate is WAY off.

I imagine that it includes the worst-case wait-time for a DTD bus to arrive at the Poly and load guests.

Will agree that would be worse case including wait time at the bus stop to be picked up. Right now would not suggest driving due to construction the time scale may reverse depending on the time of day. Once your on the bus it's maybe a 20 minute ride give or take 5 minutes for traffic and lights.

Like others have said above, parking at DTD is very difficult right now. I think you're much better off taking the bus. The 1 hour figure is definitely a worst case scenario.
