What is in Downtown Disney? I have a 4 and 8 year olds, what is interesting for kids in Downtown?

I'm planning on going there on our last day, our flight is at 6 pm, so we have maybe until 3 pm.
Would you go to Downtown Disney if you were me? Maybe have some lunch there?
Our other option is to just hang out in the resort and swim.

We usually do our first day at DTD-as we drive into town. We enjoy having lunch at one of the restaurants there. T-Rex is our favorite. If you get there right at opening, you can usually get a table, without a reservation. Mostly DTD is comprised of shops. My kids enjoy strolling through the stores. And we stay at POR, so we enjoy the boat trip to DTD.

DisneyQuest is there, but we thought it was pretty lame and outdated and not up to Disney's usual standards.

We did our travel home day at DTD - we had a 7pm flight and it worked out perfectly... we woke up, packed up our stuff, then went to DTD (we took a cab b/c the busses were taking forever that day for some reason).

We had lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express- one of the best meals we had the whole trip! LOVED it - and it's only 1 QS credit!

We shopped at Once Upon a Toy - which has the special Mr Potato head parts you can only get there - you fill up a box of them for one price (i think it was $24)... my boys loved that - you can also play with them there, too (big table set up)... it's a HUGE toy store- lots of cool stuff there.

The boys rode the merry go round and little train.... while I went and checked our photopass account for some missing pictures (they found them for me!) at the photopass store there.

It's a big area- you can easily spend a day there - the balloon ride i hear is cool, etc. We were just there for a few hours and had a great time - perfect way to end our trip on a travel day - and not need to deal with swimming and not having a room to change in afterwards, etc.

Has anyone ever ate at the fork and screen movie theater in Downtown Disney? Was it cool? Were there a lot of kids there?
