My husband and I visited Disney 14 years ago. After his proposal we had dinner at this wonderful resturant (can't remember the name) on a boat near downtown disney. It was very upscale we even had our own waiter and wine steward! I can't find anything like it. Does anyone know if it still exists?

You are no doubt referring to the "Empress Lilly". Unfortunately, it is now Fulton's Crab House and is nowhere near the fine dining experience you had.

Are you thinking of Fulton's Crab House? It is on a large riverboat (the Empress Lily) docked at Downtown Disney. It is an upscale seafood restaurant, and, if memory serves me correctly, it has a decent wine list. I think it used to be called something else, but I can't remember what! :confused3

Thank you that was it! I'm dissapointed it was the first and last incredible dining experience we've had (we now have 3 kids) so I was hopping to go for our 15th Anv. At least now i wont go crazy looking for it.

Not to burst your bubble, but like many things at WDW it really wasn't a boat. If you look at the water line you can see that its really just a building made to look like a boat but its not floating.

Now, on to the more serious stuff of a nice place to celebrate your 15th anniversary. We're partial to Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge for a romantic dinner. If you make a reservation for later in the evening (say after 7:30) you'll find its a nice quiet location with a great atmosphere. The menu is very different and the wine list will provide you with lots of choices. We always do the wine flights when we eat there. Afterwards, take a nice stroll around the grounds and watch the geyser go off on the hour and perhaps catch the electric water pageant if the timing is right.

You gotta love disney!..Sounds great. Thanks for the tip. Will check it out with the hubby!!

We never went when it was the Empress Lily. But Fulton's was the first Disney restaurant my DH ever took me to and we are going there this year for our special 25th anniversary dinner.

Thanks Kathy I will give the crab shack a secound look.

I dined at the Empress Lily on my honeymoon oh so many years ago. In terms of food and atmosphere, Fulton's doesn't come close. Fulton's just uses the same boat structure. The only place on property that has a similar feel and better food than the old Lily is Victoria and Albert's.

Thanks beachbunny. I guess it really was a once in a lifetime experience. I hear you can rent a boat on the lagoon and even have a private dinner if I hit the lotto I'll try that otherwise its off to artist point or Victoria and Alberts. I'm leaning toward the point.

We have heard great things about Pointe and V&A's. We have never dined at either. DH, even though it is our 25th anniversary trip, refuses to dress up while on vacation (and, truthfully, I'm with him), so we skip signature restaurants. I am sure you will have a wonderful time wherever you choose.

Poor Fultons. Looks even less like a river boat than the Empress Lilly did. Taking the paddle-wheel off tends to do that. A real shame when they did away with the Empress Lilly restaurants and gave us the "crab shack".
