I am not sure if we will have time to do both. If you had to choose which one would you do? We have been to Downtown Disney a couple of times (but 2 family members joining us this time have not) and none of us have been to the Boardwalk. As for the Boardwalk I was thinking if we did that we would go for an early dinner or late lunch at ESPN (sons are sports fanatics) and then take in entertainment on boardwalk.

Even thogh I love the Boardwalk, there's more to do at DD. It rally depends on how long you intend to be there.

I agree-the entertainment at Boardwalk doesn't start until later on. DTD is all day. ESPN is fun though for the sports fanatics. They have about 80 TV in the place-even in the bathrooms.

BW does not have that much to offer if you want clubs more for everyone. We like it just to walk around and get icecream .

The Market Place is open till 11:00, Pleasure Island's Clubs are open ti'll 2:00 shops till 1:00, restaurants till 11:00 and Im pretty sure the West Side is open till at least 11:00. If you got the 2 young boys, they would LOVE Disney Quest. I do :)

If your looking for an overall expierence I would vote for DD w/ PI. Great shopping, eating, and entertainment. I love the boardwalk, but our visits are usually only an hour or so if we aren't eating there.

I would also vote for DD if you're looking for lots to do. If you're planning on club hopping, be sure to check the hours. When we were there in Sept, both Adventurers Club and Jazz Club closed an hour or so earlier than the 'dance' clubs. The Comedy Club is great fun for everyone.

Having said that, if all of the members in your party are at least 21, Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk shouldn't be missed.

Have a great time!

I would definitely choose Downtown Disney!!! We have been to the Boardwalk once and really were not impressed... it just wasn't for us. On the other hand, we go to DD almost every night!! There is nothing better than a Ghiradelli's ice cream sundae... YUM:p

Don't get us wrong, the Boardwalk is fun! THey have jugglers, face painting, you can rent a surrey, eat ice cream, go to the ESPN club or the Atlantic Dance Club (I think that's what it's called). But it's not a whole night out, except the club. It's great if you're staying at one of the Epcot resorts and get back early evening but don't want to go to bed.

I would definitley choose Downtown Disney......no doubt!!!! I have visited the Boardwalk and it is nice. I just think that Downtown Disney has so much more to offer. There is so much shopping in the Marketplace and Westside :D It's a Disney lovers shopping paradise :) Not to mention the live entertainment, restaurants, and overall atmosphere. During my trips I usually go to Downtown Disney a handful of times....my trip wouldn't be the same without it. So I say.....Downtown Disney!!!!!!!!

Last month we went to the boardwalk for the first time. We went to DTD last trip (2 years ago). We used it for our first night since we did not get to our off site hotel until about 5pm. We had dinner at ESPN. Our group me, DH, DD8, DD6 and my Dad all enjoyed it. Especially my Dad, DH and my very atletic DD8. The entertainment outside was just begining soon after our dinner. The performers were fun and we had a blast on a surrey bike. The kids also enjoyed a few arcade games and carnival type games. The boardwalk was fun for a short time out. Not a long night. So I think it really depends on what you are looking for.:D

Hockey mom 94 - I would also vote for DTD. There is so much to do - shopping, magic shop, DisneyQuest, restaurants, movie theater and of course people watching!!

Annmarie (also a hockeymom from MA)

My vote is also for Downtown Disney - I have been to both many times (and enjoy both), but for overall experience, I think you would be better suited going to DTD.

Whatever you decide - I know you will enjoy! Have fun!

You may be able to do both if...the day you're scheduled to go to Epcot, you can walk right over to the Boardwalk from World Showcase-- you can also take a boat from WS to Boardwalk and just go over and take a peek. There's much more to do at DD.
