Anyone been to DTD lately for lunch? Are some of the restaurants now closed for lunch? What is open and what would you recommend? Thanks!

We love House of Blues for lunch...wide variety...moderately priced menue. One of the best burgers I have ever had anywhere. Great calamari, po'boys, rosemary cornbread.

Also at Planet Hollywood the cobb salad and LA Lasagna are wonderful.

Everything we have tried at Bongo's has been excellent also. Great atmosphere/service.

Portobello Yacht club is not open for lunch...which is a shame...it is wonderful.

Another vote for House of Blues. It's a neat place to eat and the food is really good! It has never been crowded when we stopped in. We haven't done too much else at DD for lunch, sorry I can't offer more suggestions!

I know a lot of people do not care for some of the DTD restaurants but I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal in any of the DTD restaurants and we have tried them all with the exception of Bongos. PH we usually get burgers or the LA lasagna, RFC we make a meal out of some of the wonderful appetizers, House of Blues sandwiches, gumbo and cornbread is great, Wolfgangs sushi and flatbreads. Fultons we enjoy for crab and seafood appetizers and drinks on the outside cocktail lounge. There is a large variety of eateries at DTD and like most things Disney they are all themed, just pick the atmopshere and type of food you desire and you will have a good meal. I think all the restaurants except PYC are open for lunch.

How about Rainforest Cafe? Great food, fun atmosphere and wonderful service. It's one of our favorites!!

I vote for RFC or PH. I have to admit that I prefer RFC, but either of them would be good. Just avoid McDonalds. You can do it at home, why do it at WDW? Mickey

I'd recommend Cap'n Jack's Oyster Bar - I went here for lunch in December and it served up great food - I had the shrimp linguine but I saw their New England Clam Chowder and it smelt divine.

You get a nice view of the lagoon and it's not so hustly bustly. I passed on dessert and then headed over to Ghiradellis for a Sundae.

It was reasonably priced as well.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I think we will try the RFC. I will post a review when we get back. Thanks!

If you didn't quite want a sit-down place there is a Wolfgang Puck Express that is wonderful. Really tasty food and it is nice to be able to sit outside on a nice day and eat. We love it and try not to miss it whenever we are there.

...glad you are going to try to RFC!! We make a point to visit each time that we go to Disney! You may want to check out the RFC Safari Club before you go! You can sign up while at the restaurant, but if you do it early, you will have your card and not have a wait, you will be next in line! (if you do sign up, keep in mind that they send you birthday/anniversary gift certificates, so you may want to state that your birthday is near the time of your visit, to get a $5 off coupon! );)

hope you enjoy it!

House of Blues is very good for lunch. If you go a little later in the afternoon (after 1 or 1:30), it's not crowded at all.
