We are planning a Disney cruise in September, but are thinking about staying near Downtown disney the weekend before. What hotels are near or within walking distance of the area?

thanks

If you have kids, the doubletree is great! No kids...I prefer the Hilton :-)

The Holiday Day Inn has been closed for repairs for a couple of years. I dont know if it will ever reopen.

I stayed at Hilton twice in Sept, last year got for $109 a night. Loved it there and just across the crosswalk from DTD :)

Have stayed Doubletree too, great as well, but a long jaunt to DTD (farthest hotel) and lately I just haven't been able to hit a good rate there.

We really liked the Hilton. The walk to DtD was very short, and we found the bus service to be at least as good as the resorts on property. We took our son who was 7, and he was very happy there.

:cool1: Wow, may I ask how you found a rate of $109 for the Hilton. That sounds like an awesome rate....!!!

I have stayed at the Double Tree, Royal Plaza and the Regal Sun Resort. I stayed at the double tree quite a while ago, it is really good if you have kids. Also the regal sun will be good for kids because a big swimming pool is being made and it looks like its going to be good. If you have no kids i would go for the Hilton or the Royal Plaza.

Nothing special, got it right on the Hilton website :) I got it in September - twice with the second one being only a week's notice, the same time she is looking, so I assume it is the "hurricane special".

Thanks, I bet you are right. Probably a discount for that time of the year!!!
