Downtown Disney Hotel Bus System

Would appreciate any info (good or bad) concerning the bus system servicing the Downtown Disney Hotels. Are they prompt and regular? Thanks in advance!

As with most things, you'll hear a mixed bag of reviews. Some say the buses are on time, others would say to throw the schedule out the window.

I personally don't care for thier service. Thier buses are poorly maintained, all banged up, filthy, and have maniac drivers. But of course, there will be others who might disagree with me. *shrug*

It's hit or miss, I guess.

The buses for the Downtown Disney hotels are more "cushy" than the Disney buses (upholstered and padded seats instead of hard plastic) but they only run something like every hour, as opposed to about every 20 minutes.

I prefer the Disney transportation system but if I got a real deal at a DTD hotel it would make up for their bus system.

The buses are punctual, clean and the drivers have a courteous and professional demeanor. I did not mind the bus service except for the fact that I couldn't seem to be at a park before it opened. Other than that it was excellent transportation.

Having stayed at the Hilton at DTD I can say only this - Beware of EE!!! This hotel qualifies for EE, HOWEVER - they do ONE AND ONLY ONE pick up for this at 7AM for 8AM opening - so - my point is if this is the hotel you are staying in please be aware of this.

By the way, the consierge was not aware of this either - when we inquired, two different consierges told us they thought the buses ALWAYS ran every 15 to 20 minutes.

This was not our experience and we tried this two times. We finally decided it was faster to take our own car, and alot more connvenient than having to wait for a bus.

Other than that I have had limited experience with the service but have not heard stellar reviews from anyone regarding their promptness.
