Our daughter has been accepted to the Disney College Program and check in is in a couple of weeks. I know I'm late with getting reservations..... We are looking for a hotel for 3 nights. We're not going to any parks, just helping her until she gets her assignment and apartment, then heading home.

Looking to pay no more than 130-150 a night if possible. We usually fly, but this time we'll have our car and she will have her car until DCP check in.

Any suggestions? Looking at the Downtown Disney area since she has to be in the area for her orientation etc.

I have the Holiday Inn Resort booked/on hold for the last 2 nights but the first night is unavailable.

DD is in DCP and staying on with extension. I would NOT book a Downtown Disney hotel. You have to watch for resort fees and parking fees. Holiday Inn does do rates with included but if you are not doing Disney stuff I wouldn't want to be stuck in that area especially with all the traffic right now because of the construction. In Oct I stayed at 2 DTD hotels and the traffic and getting around is very aggravating.

She will do her check in etc at Vista and that is on the other side of I-4 down 535. All the Disney Housing is south of I-4. You would be better off booking a hotel closer to it and the Walmart, Eats etc for the days you are settling her in to her apartment. Staying at DTD is no advantage to the check in process.

Suggestions to look in to (and look at Mousesaver's for discounts):
- Buena Vista Suites, nice two room suites with breakfast
- Caribe Royal Suites, sister to above might have some deals (nicer pool etc)
- Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista South (right by Walmart and its new) has two room suites, excellent cooked to order breakfast and manager's reception
- Holiday Inn Resort almost across the street from her check in - Mousesaver's has discount links for it. Small resort fee.

I've stayed at all except the Holiday Inn and heading back to Embassy next week - to visit my DD.

Thanks HopperFan! That's the area I've been looking at. I've got 2 nights booked at the Holiday Inn Resort on 535, they just don't have the first night available--although we may just stop for the first night on our way down to cut the 12-13 hour drive.

I'll definitely take a look at your suggestions and see if they can be a better suit for us. We're just not that familiar with the area and needed some guidance. I've definitely noticed all the added resort fees on a lot of the hotels in the area.

Thanks!!!!!:wizard:

Here is another idea.

At the junction of Hwy 27 & Hwy I4 there are 4 or 5 Motels

Days Inn ( with pool ) & more. Etc

These are ALL within 10 to 15 min drive to Downtown Disney .

There are many more Hotels / Motels on

Hwy 192 ... ( Hwy 27 end ) and also very near Disney via Sherberth Rd.

( Animal Kingdom area )

We like the Hilton at DTD. It is across the street from the marketplace area and makes it easy to walk to.
Mousesavers is offer a discount code, $89+Resort Fee. Check them out at mousesavers.com
