Downtime in MK

We have a long day scheduled at MK from the opening ceremony thru MNNSHP. We were going to leave the park for awhile during the afternoon but we don't want to miss Move It Shake It at 3:00 or the Flag Ceremony at 5:00 and we have an ADR at CP at 5:30.

Can anyone suggest a place to go that will provide a little downtime in the afternoon (or napping spot - LOL)?

Our kids are 16 and 13 so they are able to keep up and can probably go much longer then we adults can but an afternoon 'breather' would be a good thing for all.

Thanks for your help :)

We enjoyed a couple of loops on the People Mover when we were looking for a small break. Also, the Carousel of Progress is restful. And my family swears we went to the Hall of Presidents, but I don't remember it at all, so I guess that's pretty restful, too! LOL

I concur with People Mover and CoP in Tomorrowland. Also, the riverboat or Tom Sawyer's Island. Never been to Country Bears or Tiki Room but might be a place to sit. We also sometimes take a loop (or two) on the railroad. My 15 and 11 yr olds would mutiny if I asked them to go to HoP. None of these will usually have a wait.

LOL - we went to the Hall of Presidents last year and I can't recall a thing either! I really wanted to actually see it this year but maybe it really is just a great place for a nap  Thanks for the other suggestions as well. We'll try them all at different times during the day when we start dragging!

Great suggestions as well, thanks! The railroad will be down while we are there but we'll check out the others.

Since you want to see Move It Shake it at 3pm........around 2pm try to find a shaded spot on the parade route (with a bench if you are lucky). You can rest for an hour before the parade....if some members of your group (the teens) don't want to sit that long then they can look through the shops or grab a snack. This will allow you to have a built in rest time and get a great viewing spot!!

My parents did that on our last trip. I had a great time roaming around, shopping, taking pictures, etc. I got a great shot of them sitting together, dad's arm around mom, their heads resting against each others. They said they were enjoying the breeze and people watching (though their eyes seemed a little too closed for watching much of anything!).

Oops, it's FoF Parade at 3:00, Move It at 11:00 or 12:30 (or 5:40 but we'll be at dinner). Park benches or even grassy shaded areas are also good places for naps. Normally I am not a napper but something about Disney brings it out in me ;)

That photo would make a nice little gift :)
