Downtime activities

For our December trip we have a morning arrival, 3 full days and a late departure. We are only doing 3 parks and I don't think that 2 of them are going to be full day parks. I need some ideas for good, easy, cheap downtime activities that will be fun with a 19 month old (but also fun for the adults). It will be the week before Christmas so they can be holiday related or non holiday related ideas. Thanks.

DTD has lots going on for low/no cost. There's a carousel, Lego store with play area, the new T-Rex restaurant with the Build-a-Dino shop inside, plus there are often things going on there in the theater area. Last December there were also groups of musicians at various times playing holiday music. You can hop a resort launch and take a nice cruise - you'll even get to see the new Treehouse Villas from the water - and of course there's plenty of shopping to be had.

Another option would be to do a monorail resort tour. Not so many things for the kids, but there are lots of lovely decorations and GF has an enormous gingerbread house that's fun to see. You can even buy a shingle of the gingerbread as a snack. :santa:

How about going to AKL and watching the animals. It would also give you a chance to check out the resort decorations.

Mini golf. If you're doing magic your way package you'll get some free coupons for the mini golf. One of the courses is a North Pole theme with plenty of holiday scenes. Assuming the little one is walking, a 19-mos old can have some fun doing it.

The monorail tour is a great idea. You can also do a modified plan of that around the Boardwalk. You can hit Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club.

Is "Downtime Activities an Oxymoron?" ???

Anyway - you do not mention the resort you will be staying at...:confused3

The Resorts I have stayed at have had PLENTY of "Downtime Activities"....ex. BC - beachside movies, Poly- lei making...etc...:cutie:

So I would check with your resort to see what is available...

OR post a question about what is available at your particular resort....:dance3:

We've also enjoyed the activities at the resorts...wonderful time renting a "Bicycle built for 6" at BW and 'biking' around the resorts.....was a GREAT time!

I'd love to do the Sea Raycers in the future...but might be a bit older for your kids....

Check with your resort...

Hugs,
Mary

We love Celebration - we love it all year round but at Christmas they have christmassy events and snow every evening I think every hour!

I have done many of these and can tell you that they have helped my wife and I make resort selections for our next trip. Resort hopping can be a ton of fun, especially since the crowds are usually at the parks.
