I've never seen anything about the Junior Miss pageant. Might have to check that out just out of curiousity. Any big plans for the holiday weekend?

I have to work this weekend . I tried to find someone to work for me so we could make a quick trip to Disney and head to the race in Daytona, but no luck.

What have y'all got planned?

It's supposed to rain off and on this weekend, so it may be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully the race will still go on...and not get rained out. NOTHING worse then a rained out race!!!

Hi! So glad to hear from you again. Thanks about the girls. This Snow White was really good. She spent so much time with the kids and she let them lead the discussion. It was super cute.

The pics of the girls are beautiful, there is nothing that calms me more than watching a child sleep, I love how they look. I have a ton of pics of my DD sleeping when she was youngity's harder to find that when they're 16, probably because I'm in bed far earlier than her

Hi! I agree. Watching a child sleep is so peaceful. I have lots of pics of mine sleeping too. I'm not looking forward to their teens as they are sweet and innocent now and I know that will change before long. Lindsey is already starting to change into a "big kid".

We are doing a little better. We went camping last weekend, went on a cave tour and just relaxed. It was fun to hang out by a campfire and do nothing. Thanks for thinking of us!

That doesn't sound fun at all Dana! Work...YUCK! My neighbor is having a yard sale so I will be helping her with that. On our agenda we have Thunderfest at the Corvette Museum tomorrow and fireworks at WKU Saturday night - if the rain holds out. Other than that we will probably hang out in the pool.

Sorry you have to work! A mini-trip to Disney would be so cool. My brother is coming in from Orlando tonight so he is heading the opposite direction that I would like to go....if only I was rich.

We're gonna go out in the boat saturday early, beat the rush there, get some fishing in, my dad told Chris about a good spot close to us, so we're gonna go check that out, and hopefully be in before the rain comes, and then make hamburgers on the grill and laugh at the dogs who are both big chickens with rockets, fireworks, lightening and stuff, so we pick on them. Then Sunday early I think we're gonna head to universal, chris found a magic trick there he wanted, that we didn't have the $$ for last weekend, so he wants it now. UG!! So that's it, no more time off or nothing....just spending time with Chris before he leaves for Miami for good!!!

Sounds like a busy but fun weekend. We had a nice weekend also. Went to the drive in on Friday night, to the lake yesterday and then hung out with my brother today. Lots of fun.

Thanks girl! I can't wait to go back either. Visited some friends yesterday that went the same time as us last year (2008) and they are going back next year and probably the same week as us. We started chatting Disney and man do i have an itch to start some planning.

At least he gets paid good when he's gone!! So, we're trying to make good use of the time we have left. too bad I gotta work!! LOL

That stinks that you have to work! I would go crazy. My best friend from high school is in the Air Force (has been for almost 17 years). She doesn't seem to mind being separated from her family for extended periods of time either. It would drive me bonkers. I guess God made us all different for a reason right? Well I hope you get a chance to spend some good quality time before he is gone for a long period.

Hey girlfriend! I am so jealous that you got to see the Mouse and I didn't. I"m glad the rain held off so that you could actually enjoy it this time.

It was my friends yard sale and I put a whole two hours into it. I made $180 though so I figure that worked out very well. Who knows what could have happened if I had put some real work into it. After a yard sale I always take the stuff over to the low income daycare. The families there really appreciate anything you can give them. It makes me feel good to help them out. I just shove it into a bag, load it up and we are off. I have a rule that it doesn't go back in the house.

You just gotta be strong, and send them good messages, sayin things are okay, so they don't worry. but, it's a good and rewarding life, we have most things taken care of by the military, so I can't complain too much!

Great update. We went into toontown and waited to see the Princesses during our rainy MK day too. It was only the last 2 and a half days that rained during our trip, but even during the rain, we had fun. I figured we might as well not let it get us down, cause that would ruin our last few days there. So, i'm glad to see you enjoyed your day as well.

As far as the rain is concerned, it stinks that you got so much but you made the best of it. Dh and I have been lucky each time we've gone to DW, however, for some odd reason, (and it never fails) whenever we go to SeaWorld, we get caught in horrible downpours. It's gotten to the point where we started joking any time we go on how long we go through the day before the skies open up. Seriously, we've been to SeaWorld 4x and it has rained each time!

You guys must be really tough. I admire your commitment. You must have a very, very strong relationship. For what you endure the military should take care of you guys. My Dad is a disabled veteran so I understand some about military benefits etc.

Hi Pam! You're exactly right. Why waste time getting down and out. If we wouldn't have made the best of it, it would have been ugly. It rained every day on us... A few days weren't too bad but 4 of them were constant downpour days. We had a great time and are already planning to go back the same week next year. It's our favorite. One bad trip isn't going to break our spirits.

Thanks so much and thanks for reading! We've been the same week for 4 years straight and in all those trips combined we didn't see rain that totaled what we saw in one day during this trip. It was crazy. It's okay though because we still had an awesome time. A rainy day at Disney is 10 times better than my best day at work. I enjoyed your story about Sea World. Too funny!

It's been tough. We're doing better but just last weekend I teared up just thinking about her and how she died alone. It just wasn't fair. I'm a black and white person so things like this that are totally irrational and unnecessary mess with me for a long time. Thanks for coming over and stick around; I'm just getting started.

Okay so on with the show...Day 4 was our Hollywood Studios day. We woke up to heavy rains...yuck. By this time, we all had become pros at putting on and off rain ponchos. We started our morning at 6:30 am and was at the bus stop for the first bus heading to DHS. I have to say that the busses were kind of slow in the morning. Sometimes it took 20 minutes or longer for a bus to make it to Barbados that didn't pass by because it was at capacity.

The girls refused to let me take their buns out from BBB the day before. It was raining so hard that it didn't matter. No hairdo was going to look good in that kind of rain.

We arrived at DHS before rope drop. As soon as that rope went down we headed straight for Toy Story Mania. We had never rode it. We walked through the entire cue with no wait and rode. It was awesome! In fact, if you ask Josie what her favorite thing at Disney was this trip she says "Teacups and Taterheads". Taterheads translates to TSM.

We got fastpasses to ride it again and then head to ToT. We checked the wait for ToT and RnRC and both were less than 15 minutes. The wait was 10 minutes at ToT so Joe and I got the riderswap pass and Joe and Lindsey went for a ride. Josie and hung out in the gift shop. While in there the nicest CM gave Josie a Belle pin. He was so nice. It wasn't too long and Lindsey and Joe were back. By then the wait at RnRC had increased by 5 min so I told them to forget me riding and lets get over to RnR.

We got another Rider Swap and Josie and I waited for the two to ride again. Josie really wanted some popcorn so I got some to hold her over while she waited. She really was very patient during this trip. When Joe got back, Lindsey and I headed to the fastpass queue and we rode it. As usual it was awesome.

Since our favorites were out of the way and we couldn't use our fastpasses for TSM for another hour and a half we decided to check out some characters. We ran into these guys outside of Playhouse Disney:

Josie loves Handy Manny and actually interacted with him. She didn't want much to do with the Einsteins or Jo Jo for some reason. I love her excitement to see him.

After meeting everyone here we headed over to the Animation Studio. We ran into some more characters.

If you read my PTR you know that Josie wouldn't have a thing to do with ANY of the characters but the Fairy Godmother last year. (We think the only reason she interacted with her is because at first she thought it was her Nana). So for months prior to the trip we kept building up our visit to see Mickey. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is her favorite Disney show. She promised she would hug Mickey when she saw him.....Did she keep her promise......

YEP!!!!

Next we met the characters from UP. They were so cute. Russell did the Scout handshake with Lindsey. She didn't have a clue what he was doing (the movie wasn't even out yet) but she played along...

We had met everyone here so we decided to head over to TSM for another go. As we were leaving I had that creepy feeling that someone was watching me. I turned around and FroZone was right up on me. The girls and Joe thought it was hysterical. It scared the fire out of me...looking back it was pretty funny though. Here I am over to the side getting out of the way after he scared me...

After this we rode TSM again and then headed over to Pizza Planet for lunch. Pizza Planet was okay but it took forever to find a place to sit to eat. It was a madhouse.

I ordered Wall-e shirts for Gwendolyn, Joe, Dayne's so to be ex GF, and Dayne
when they came in I had accidently ordered Dayne the exact shirt your girls have on.
So, now I'm stuck with two shirts
