Downpayment for RPR?

If you book online they don't take a deposit even though they say they are going to. If you book over the phone then they charge one nights rate plus tax.

I've heard that's a hit or miss online, but worst case, they would charge us one nights rate? The first night, I would assume? And the website this would be loewshotels.com correct?

I had a rack rate ressie that was booked over the phone. My credit card was charged one night plus tax. I then changes it to a AAA rate, and the original deposit was credited to my account, byt the AAA rate for one night plus tax was charged to the card. I then got a PCT code (15% off) that according to the reservationist who took the call could only be obtained on-line. So, I made my reservation with this on-line and was charged no deposit at all. I cancelled the AAA rate over the phone, and that wa creditd to the card.

I booked online and was charged nothing and then I switched over the phone with AP discount and still nothing on my credit card. We will be checking in one week from tomorrow, Aug 7th.

go to the universal web site. click on hotels, from there choose one of the three. more direct using this site than the loews site i think.

yes, you are charged one night including tax when you reserve.

I usually always book through the Universal site because I would rather them not take the deposit. I have never been charged the first nights deposit and I stay very often. I'm going to HRH tomorrow and wasn't charged when I booked earlier this month. If you book over the phone with Loews or Universal you will most likley be charged the deposit.

So booking through the Universal website would usually mean (95%) no downpayment? or is it the Loews site? Thanks again!

based upon my experience with HRH, hopefully, 1st night paid actually means something for the RPR
