I've seen many posts that state you can upgrade from QSDP to the regular DP for a fee, but can you request a moderate/deluxe room and get the QSDP for a credit? Or w/o credit and just switch? Thank you for your input!

No. They do not allow a downgrade.

You can go to your resort desk and they'll (probably) gladly convert your TS credits to CS credits, though. No extra snack/day or resort mug.

Just wondering if there are any good room discounts for your dates that could make it just as good value to pay the lesser room rate and pay for the QSDP to be added.

I just got off the phone with a CM and she said no you cannont downgrade to QS, which is what I have read here on the boards but you can use your TS for QS meal instead. Has anyone done this and does it wokr out okay?
The reason I am asking is that I like the freedom of eating when you want but we have free dining at a moderate resort and in order to get the free QS you have to book a value which we are not thrilled about.

You will most likely be able to trade your TS for CS at the restaurant, but possibly not at ALL restaurants.
