Down Town Disney Questions?

I am thinking of taking my two little ones ages 2 and 8 on a day trip to DTD. Has anyone been there during the holidays? Is there anyting special going on there, are there decorations? Is it worth fighting the crowds?

There's a Lego store that kids love. There's a McDonalds with a big playground kids also love. Personally, I don't find DTD to be an all day attraction, though I do go about 5 nights during my trips.

Not to say you can't spend the day there. DTD is beautiful. I hate shopping, but love the shops there. The Xmas store is fantastic. During the day, crowds aren't bad at all - Far less than what you'll encounter at the parks.

Also, Rainforest Cafe is a great place to eat with kids.

We have been there many times but never during the holidays. I was wondering if it had Christmas decorations or anything of the sort. Thanks

It has decorations, Santa, etc. Just like any shopping center with a twist

Tons of decorations, Santa, visiting local bands and choirs playing holiday music, a small train ride, small carousel, candy shops, christmas shop, all in all plenty to keep young ones busy for at least a half a day.

On the weekends, they usually have a DJ party for the kids along the water in front of World Of Disney.

We went last year at Christmas time and the kids just loved it. DD3 loved the carousel and they both (other was only 1 at the time) went gaga over this cute little Christmas statue of Christmas Mickey and Donald. (great photo op!)

DTD is one of our favorite places!! We LOVED Wolfgang Puck Express for lunch--- I would definitely not go to WDW and miss DTD!
