Down rides at the MK 3-5

We have a Splash FP at 11:25. Can someone explain how the anytime FP works? Does it inhibit my opportunity to get a 4th FP if it isn't utilized? TIA.

Splash was down for most of Sunday morning, and many other mornings also. This is becoming sadly predictable.

But, with predictability comes opportunity. It may be a wise strategy to get a FP for Splash in the mornings, so when Splash inevitably goes down, it will convert into an "any ride" Fastpass for any time throughout the day.

Yes, it sadly now has to be part of your RD strategy like TT (which at least has a somewhat legit weather excuse).

We always RD Splash. We plan to RD it on 2 MK days. But this year I also got FPs for it.

What I'm wondering is how on earth can they justify Splash being down on what is becoming a near daily basis, after the big refurb it jus went through?

Thats exactly what I am thinking, it was closed when we were there in October. We go again in November and if we dont get to ride I will be disappointed...(not ruin my trip disappointed, but it would sure suck).

Seems to be the accepted default at MK for the past year or so. Last Sept, at least 3 headliners went down at some point each day of my trip. Usual offenders are POTC, BTMR & Space. Splash was still in its rehab.

I was even evac'd from People Mover. Although that was hugely interesting despite being a time suck. We were led along the little paver on the side of the track all the way around to the main entrance. Even through the dark tunnel overlooking the shop. CM leading us out was a newly minted college program kid & he was very nervous and very chatty. Experience was like a free behind the magic tour with bonus anytime FP thrown in. Sadly, not all breakdowns are that rewarding. Most downers really are downers.

I was there Sunday/Monday. Sunday morning started with Splash down, came back up in time for my 12:20 FP+ and got to ride it. Monday morning same deal, started out of service, making the FP+ line for Thunder a NIGHTMARE. We got in line at 1:10 for a 12:20 - 1:20 and we didnt scan our MB until 1:25! it was insane. Splash came back up and then a little while later we walked by and saw them evacuating people off of it.

When we rode it on Sunday, there was an announcement to the effect of "a delay in boarding times is leading to a long delay in the queue". It seemed like they were using that to justify letting lots of FP+ in. Similar experience on Thunder and Space on Sunday too. I felt bad for standby...

  • Of my last three trips the last few years, only in 2014 was Space Mountain working at some point during my park visit.

When we were in MK on 2/26, we heard the same announcement while waiting in the FP+ line for Splash; they said they had encountered a "sticky situation" and that wait times would be longer than indicated because of it.

Is the 'anytime' FP - for either BTMRR or Space (i.e., if they go down during my FP time) - include Meet Mickey at Town Square? I know it excludes 7DMT, but I can't remember about Mickey. TIA!

Wait - never mind: it goes down so often, I easily found old emails for BTMRR! (It does include mickey).

We were there last week and there were alot of rides down. In many cases it worked in our favor but a few times were big inconveniences. One time it worked out was Monday night during the fireworks at MK. We were walking behind the castle to get to our scheduled fast pass for Space Mountain. 7DMT had been down for an extended time but opened right as we walked by. We literally walked right on.
