Down in the dumps

I am so down today. I am beginning to think that I am never going to find a job. I am so tired of sending out resumes, going to interviews and then nothing. Now it looks like I am going to have to cancel my trip in December. Because, it feels like I won't even have a job by then. I realize that unemployment is high and some people have been out of work longer than a year. So called employment agencies are a waste of time and energy. They call you and tell you that they have a job that is just "perfect" for you and then you hear NOTHING. Unemployment is not option, have exhausted all my benefits. Supposedly, there is an addition to the tax cut bill for more extended benefits. But, it is only for persons that haven't exhausted all of their benefits. If you have exhausted all of them, it doesn't apply to you. Sorry, to write a post about being down in the dumps, but it is really getting to me for some reason.

Hang in there, doxdogy. I know how hard it is. Maybe now with the focus being on home finance we can see some changes.... I hope!

Hang in there! You are right the economy is bad & the competition is fierce! Just try to say focused & confident. You may end up taking something not so great until the economy gets better. Sending pixie dust your way!!!!!!!!;)

Do not give up!! I am also jobless at the moment, but very fortunate to have a home (I'm 21 and still living with mother), and able to go to school. Although my situation is not as serious as i am assuming yours is, I still get bummed too and have also gone through many applications, resumes and so on. And, still nothing. Very discouraging, frustrating, and depressing. It's hard, but you can get through it!:D There are many other people out there who are making it through and being patient.

;)

Oh I'm in the dumps today too. We are really strapped financially and of course I love to worry, worry, worry. I too am trying to find a new job and it is tough but hang in there. I wish I had wonderful, inspriring words for you but I just wanted to say I so identify with what your saying and send you all the luck in the world.

Keep chugging along doxdogy. Life really does bite sometimes, but eventually your fortunes will turn around. My DH was unemployed for 5 months, and I felt like I wanted to die. I don't handle stress well at all and the money and marital stress was almost more than I felt I could handle. He now has a job that he loves, whereas he hated his old job. He's not making as much, but he has found happiness. You'll find yours too.

Prayers and pd sent from out west that you'll be able to find the job you love soon. I know it must be so hard to be unemployed. Hang in there!!!

I'm really sorry you feel down today.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for lots of job interviews next week.
:D

PD your way, I was very lucky a couple months ago and was offered a new job on the last day of the job I was layed off from. I felt VERY blessed. We need for me to work to have any sort of life with any fun in it.

The past couple days have been absolutely terrible though, problems at home, problems at work etc, I spent two nights crying my eyes out, and just when I though it couldn't get any worse....you guessed it....it did. I came home from work and went out back to check on the dog. He was all twisted up in his line and when I went to untangle him he got all excited, rolled over on his back and just as I bent over to unclip him....he took a pee into the air and guess who got a nice shower?! It was such an icing to my cake of a couple days that I had to laugh. Just when you think it can't get worse....someone takes a pee on you :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed you find a good job that you like and that a dog doesn't pee on you:rolleyes:

I don't know what type of work you are looking for but have you considered a Temp Agency. At worst it will give you money for the time being, at best it will lead to a permanent position.

Prayers and PD and lots and lots of {{{hugs}}} for you. Things will turn around. And don't cancel the WDW plans just yet. December is a ways off yet. You never know. That trip could be to celebrate having a job that is perfect for you.

I'm sending lots of pd your way!! I hope you and everyone else find a job.

(((hugs)))

Im so very sorry. Im sure ther ight job will come along very soon! :)

God Bless!

I can relate...

dd and ds are both filling out job apps as I type. DS is a new college grad and options are grim.

Keep thinking positively.

herc.

(((HUGS))) and a prayer that the right job will come along for you.

Hang in there!

Is there any volunteer work you can do? This might help get you net working and get some contacts that may led you to jobs that are not advetised.

Good luck :)

sorry you cant find a job...maybe if you think about getting something temporary untill the right job comes around...lowering your standards a little but hey, it might get you through...fast food places are always looking for help and even local summertime help at department stores...good luck to you:D

My prayers and best wishes are with you, doxdogy. Many good thoughts here. And what Jasmine and korzmom say about temp is so correct. Check with a temp agency, they are usually very successful, and as said, many times lead to a permanent position.

{{Hugs}}

Dan

PS: And my very best to all those hurting similarly.

Oixie dust heading your way. I've been there before and am fearful that I may be again soon. It can get very stressful . At least you have someplace like the DIS to vent. That is good! Get it out of your system. We're here for you.

Here's hoping you find the perfect job for your soon!
