Down By The Boardwalk, Out By The Mouse. 3/11 Jen's New PTR Pg. 69

Very nice Vera Bradley bags. I saw a bunch of them over the weekend while I was in Baltimore. Seems like there's so many to choose from! How do you decide?! Good luck with the ongoing move. I hate moving... something ALWAYS gets lost :sad2:

I just find colors that I really like and for January I wanted to go with darker colors!!!!

Oh yes I'm pretty sure we have lost a few things!!!

love the countdown...to fun...months, days, hours and minutes...that's the way I like it....oh no now I have that stuck in my head ;)

the VB bags are great! my sister bought me the cutest one for my b-day...I'll post it on my PTR soon!

scotchgaurd...duh why didn't I think of that?

I never leave for a Disney trip without scotchguarding!!

I can't wait to see what VB you decided on!!!

Oooh, always love those Vera's! ;)
Btw...I think I am in need of a new one...:rolleyes1

I agree Jess, you should totally buy a new one LOL!!!

Cute bags....I love the Mod Floral in the pink and I use that one quite often :thumbsup2
 at the vision of Wigd as a VB showcase!!!!!:rotfl2:

Tracy

Veras are amazing!!! OOOH we have matching patterns!! YAY!!!!

Love your Vera choices. I have both types and love them for different reasons. I used the Cargo sling on our last trip and it worked great as a park bag. I have the Saddle up that I used as my purse for last fall. I'm a Vera nut, so I have several.

Thanks!!! I love the cargo sling and in all honesty will probably be the one I use in January!!

I'm going on at least 5 Veras now LOL!!

Oooo... pretty Vera's Jen!!

I have been using the same Vera backpack all summer - the one I bought for our trip last spring. I just bought a new purse today and tucked the Vera backpack away for my fall trip. But it just isn't going to be the same taking an old Vera along... I might just need a new one. :rolleyes1

Don't you think they need to create a Vera pattern with hidden Mickeys? :confused3

Always think a new Vera is a good idea!!

OOOH Hidden Mickey Vera!!! What a great idea!!

Joining in! Sounds like a super fun trip!

Welcome!! THANK YOU!!!

I have been pondering the cargo sling for our trip. How much "stuff" does that hold?

Holds all the things I need!! I'm thinking of getting a new camera and there will be even more room in the bag! I love the pockets on the side where I can hold a water bottle! I also love all the different pockets!!!

Ah, I love Daisy and Minnie! I wish there was a character meal that featured both of them because I would so be there!

It has been crazy around here, hasn't it? Have you settled into the school routine yet?

Cute new Veras!!! With no Disney trip on the horizon, I haven't been on the site for awhile. Although I will admit that I have been pining after a Disney D&B bag.

I think the Mary Poppins bag will be okay if you promise to bring her back something like a pin to wear. LOL!

Bringing back MP a pin sounds like a great idea!! Thanks Jackie!!!! I would so be at that character meal too!!! That would be a lot of fun to have Minnie and Daisy together!!

School routine, I'm still working on classroom managment. I'm hoping in another week or so I will have things settled!!

Wow, I didn't even know they sold that at Walmart. I'll definitely have to try that on my Veras, it would certainly help keep them cleaner.

It's amazing how it works!! I also love how it protects my tennis shoes also!!! Great stuff!!

Wasn't that a great idea!!!!

Ok. I'll admit it. I'm not a Vera fan. There is ONE single pattern that I like...but not enough to spring for a bag.

I'm a COACH girl. Though the new D&B Disney patterns keep drawing my attention...

There is Dooney and Burke pattern calling my name too! If I can save enough by January it will be mine!!!!!!

LOL you're too funny!!!

I'm going on at least 5 Veras now LOL!!

5 is a good start! I probably have around 20-25 (I'm afraid to go count) however I have been collecting mine since 1995. Got my first one as a HS graduation present.

So I have a confession to make.....I hope you all will forgive me.............

BECAUSE.....

I couldn't do it! I booked a rental car!!! I know I'm so ashamed of myself, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that having a car at Disney just makes the trip more relaxing for me. I'm a bus snob, I admit it, I have a serious problem. LOL I was sitting here reading Jackie's (CP) update and she mentioned how much she enjoyed having a car with her and I started to feel that little buzz in my ear and I tried to ignore it. I didn't need a car, I could do Disney transportation, I could. I managed to think on something else, even let the whole idea go for a couple days. Then I started to have ME anxiety, because I have never had to use ME and well flying is bad enough for me, top that off with arriving at 11pm on the 19th, having to get my own luggage, then find the ME counter, get on a bus, and well I just caved, I had to rent a car. I felt the relief immediately, I would be able to pick up my luggage and then drive to my resort. This also makes switching resorts a little easier, we'll just load up the car go to the park we want to go to and then check in to the Boardwalk.

So already I have failed at my resolutions, but I blame it on my car dependency LOL!!!

SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!!

PS: I did get an amazing deal on a car and I'm hoping that as we get closer I will get a better deal!!

Hmmmmm....I wonder what Leslie will think about this newest development?? LOL

If only I had known I was going to lead you down the path of temptation!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I think the very fact that you feel better now about having a car makes the price of the rental worth it.

Somehow I don't think Leslie will be too surprised.

That's OK, I'm blaming you for the fact that we have rental cars reserved for our next two trips....

LOL!!! Yes, if you had only known what your words as you typed them were going to do to me LOL!!! :rotfl2: Nope, I don't blame you, the thought was there I was on the edge, I just jumped LOL!!!

Yes I do feel a lot better, between late arrival, ME, and resort switching, well having a car makes it all better LOL!!

Yes I don't think Leslie will be surprised at all LOL!!!

LOL!!! WHAT IS THIS, YOU GUYS HAVE RENTED A CAR LOL!! I LOVE IT!! WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE!!! I'm telling you there is just something lovely about having your own car at Disney!!

Now I'm feeling all happy and giddy inside!! THANK ANITA!!!

You know I can't stand those buses....
Love the monorail, but not the buses.

I don't know what to think about getting the car at the airport though, we have always done DME....

Is it easy and fast?

For me getting a car at the airport has never been an issue. However, I haven't ever really picked one up at a major airport like MCO before. What I do like is that the counters are usually right by the baggage claim and you can go right up get your car and be on your way!! I am making sure Stanley (my trusty GPS) will be in my carryon and I'm hoping that at that late at night I can zip right through the line and be on my way!!

I don't think you and Marc should have any issues at all!!

Jen,
That is so funny!
Until we needed a double stroller we would park the car (we drive down) the day we got there and we would not see it again for the whole week. We would just take busses or boats everywhere. And even now we only use it some because we always get lost. We are so different.:rotfl:But I'm glad you got it if you know you will use it. You have been there enough to know what you like and how you tour. And it des make it nice for other hotel ADRS.

Why am I not surprised?
;)

LOL!!! I just couldn't help myself!!!

I just had to have my car LOL! I love using it! I'm sure Leslie and I will make great use of the car at Disney!!! We will definitely have to re-evaluate our ADRs and maybe do a few more resort ADRs LOL!

That buzz in your ear wasn't Jackie, it was :tink:

We love and accept all our DIS friends - snobs and otherwise. :goodvibes

I'm just the opposite. I want someone getting my bags, doing the driving, and dropping me off at my resort/park. To each his own. It's good that there are options for everyone to make their trips suit them. :thumbsup2

I hope LL and Marc are having a fabulous time. :)

Oh my goodness you're too funny! Your addicted to rental cars girl! LOL!!

I'll admit, sometimes the buses seem daunting! A bit of a pain in the butt. But, all in all DH and I enjoy not having to drive! I'll also admit that sometimes ME seems daunting! We can't all get lucky like Cynthia and have our own private ME coach like a rock start! I know DH was none to pleased last Oct when we waited FOREVER to get ME!

You know I cancelled our rental for next month BUT I'll admit that the thought of getting a car service from the airport and back keeps creeping into my mind ;)

I don't think Leslie will be surprised either!

Rock Star. :rotfl:

It WAS cool.

Awww thanks MeMom!! I just have nightmares about lost luggage or late luggage. I also am not sure about navigating my way around MCO for the 1st time at 11pm so all around this just makes me feel more comfortable and that is what counts!!

I love that we all love Disney in our own special ways!!!!

I'm so addicted to rental cars!! I just like the idea of having that flexibility and not dealing with ME and resort switching for the first time. I'm sure at some point I will conquer those fears LOL!!!

ROCK STAR CYNTHIA!! I love it!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: You caved!!!

At least you got a good deal. ;)

The walking/boat to Epcot and DHS from the Boardwalk is VERY nice. The ride to MK isn't bad at all either - it just stops at the Swolfin after the BW. To AK and DTD it makes alllllll the stops. BW is first so at least you get a seat.

But, you don't have to worry about that now! :goodvibes

As you know we LOVED the Boardwalk. Seriously, LOVED. The hallways can be looooooong, but hopefully you won't have to deal with that and land close to the elevators or stairs. The pool is awesome and George the Clown is truly a nice guy once you get to know him. ;)

I took a ton of pictures all week long, I'll be starting the TR soon! :hyper: Let me know if you have any questions about the resort too, I'll try to answer the best I can.

 you and your cars!! I must say I do not mind ME and I enjoy being driven around...now say if someone was to rent a car I wouldn't mind being driven around by them either!!! :rotfl: I do NOT like the return service of ME and having to be at the airport 3 hours early. This is starting to stress me out for my return trip in October....my flight is at 6am (I booked on miles so I have stupid flight times :sad2:)
I know that someday I will want to rent a car to go and visit Harry ;)

Tracy

If you really want to feel like a rock star, rent a towncar. They will be out front with a special plate with your name on it waiting for you.

DME to the resort is a great way to travel for me but coming back is an entirely different story!

I  Harry. I would get a towncar for your return in Oct Tracy, DME will want you 3 hours early and a towncar will be 2 and at that hour, the extra sleep is worth the cost (about $42 I think). We had a 6am flight in 09 and made the call at 11om the night before to switch to a towncar and I am SO glad we did!
