Has anyone stayed at the Doubletree Suites at DTD? How are the shuttles to the parks? How far is the walk to DTD? Thanks!

We stayed at the Doubletree suites in DTD in May of 2005. At the time two of the hotels on the strip were closed due to hurricane damage so we found the buses to be fine. Sure at some points during the day they were busy but we weren't ever unable to get on one. The suites are great and it is nice to have the included breakfast. It is would be a 15-20 min walk to DTD from the hotel. Some days we walked back from DTD rather than waiting for the bus. Any other questions let me know.

We are thinking about staying there too. About how long was the shuttle ride to the Magic Kingdom? Did it make stops at other hotels or it is only for Doubletree guests. Thanks for the info. :goodvibes

I stayed at the DoubleTree DTD in August of 2005. I had complimentary breakfast deal and a really good rate. The hotel itself is not the newest on the block but it was still nice. The room gave me plus two kids sufficient room to get around without bumping into each other. Kids liked the pool area. There were always people but never overly crowding. The beds are to die for...I believe the best sleep I've had in quite awhile.

The bus system is run by Downtown Disney services and makes stops at several hotels along the strip. That said, we never more then 15 minutes for the bus to arrive which was going to our destination. There are certain times of the day when the buses can get a little crowded. But so can Disney buses. Ususally this only happens in the early mornings or after the parks close. We generally did not leave the hotel until after 9:30 am so it was not much of an issue for us. I couple of cons about the bus service. You do have to walk a little farther away than the Disney stops. One evening a bus broke down or something but we had to wait for about 35 min after the parked closed to get picked up. All the while thunderstorms threatened our wait. We were not happy campers that evening. We did notice a couple of bugs on the bus ( I am not a bug person at all) but just moved seats and keep watch until we could get off.

Hope this helps!
