I am looking for info from someone who stayed there. We will be 3 adults? Was it cramped? Does it look recently remodeled? I am Hilton Honors Diamond so I was hoping for an upgrade, anyone have success with upgrades at this property? Is there an exec/concierge lounge? What rate did you get?

I stayed there last month. The suites are extremely large -- quite the reverse of cramped!

It has not been recently remodeled but the hotel has an ongoing maintenance program and room quality is very acceptable.

No upgrades for HHonors Gold or Diamond as all the suites are essentially identical and there is no HHonors level or lounge.

Did they have a laundry facility on premises? How many washers and dryers? did it seem like enough for the size hotel? Did they have high speed internet in the rooms to connect a laptop?

princess: to answer your questions.
There are no upgrades for gold/diamond unless a 2 bdrm suite is available (unlikely as they only have a few of these) Only perks I noticed was the 2 bottles of water they left me and the breakfast certificates. No lounge.

As far as having 3 people in a standard 1 bdrm suite I think it would be fine, the rooms are plenty large, but not well soundproofed, so if one person likes to stay up late, they are out of luck.

It has not been recently renovated, best I can tell. A very discriminating customer would notice a few things that would tip them off (peeling wallpaper under the sink, etc.) but overall the facility is fine but not luxurious.

Here is the review I wrote last month in a different thread...

As promised... Review of DTD Doubletree Guest Suites: 4/27-4/30

I decided to stay here to stay close to Disney, but at a fairly reasonable rate. Booked a 1-bedroom suite for $99/night through mousesavers.com On arriving, checked in without any problems. Requested a room far from the elevators and received one about 1/2 way down. Note to others: On asking they said that they only have 5 or 6 2-bedroom suites so if you want one of those you might want to book early.
Room: 2 rooms connected by a slatted door that incompletely blocks out light and is not very soundproof so if one person stays up late, watching TV or having a lot of lights on can only be done very gingerly. Bathroom is attached to the bedroom, without access from the living room. Amenities: iron/ironing board, shampoo/conditioner, mini-fridge, microwave, 1 tv in each room, 1 phone in each room. In-room movies on the TV. No high-speed internet access. Air conditioning works well.
Property: Adult Pool seemed fine (I only saw it at night) and stayed open quite late, hot tub was fine as well. Was told that the kids' pool wasn't heated, don't know if it was broken or supposed to be that way. Breakfast options: room service (didn't use it), Continental breakfast buffet $3 - bread, pastries, fruit, also a full buffet including eggs, bacon for another $3
Experience: Check-in was fine. (Note to HHonors gold and diamond members, was told that outside of the 2-bdrm suites, all other suites are supposedly the same so upgrading is a non-issue here). Check-in cookies were actually quite good. "Concierge" seemed quite uninformed as to restaurants recommendations and park tips, but you can buy tickets from them. Most helpful person for that was the person at the Hilton Grand Vacation Desk (a time-share selling desk) who, once I indicated that I had no interest in setting up an appointment, was still quite helpful. Park transportation was every 30 minutes. Arriving relatively on time, directly outside the hotel and dropped off close to the gates. Took it to MGM. It stopped 1st at one other hotel, then EPCOT, then went to MGM. On the way back, stopped at just about every hotel in DTD before ours.

Overall: This is a perfectly adequate but not stellar hotel. If you are looking to stay at DTD and want a suite, it is just the thing. I had no complaints, got exactly what I expected but wasn't blown away either. I'd give it a 2 1/2 to 3 star rating.

The living room portion of the suite is huge -- you could hold a hockey game in it. About 600 sq ft altogether is my estimate of room size. However the furnishings are not nearly as nice as an Embassy Suites; in particular the microwave and fridge are kind of cheap. There are basically no good views. I was given a "pool view" and told it was the best view they have; however a pool view is also an I-4 view!

But these are minor complaints. Given the location and size of the rooms, it's a very good value for around $100, especially for families of 5 or 6 looking for an on-site bargain. With three adults, you can all have your own bed! Try and find that somewhere else on site for $100. If it's a toss-up between the DoubleTree and somewhere else, go for the Doubletree just for the cookies. They are REALLY good! Also be sure to check their website for rates -- I actually found a rate there lower than the Mousesavers rate, and the front desk was very good about extending it to a day for which it didn't really apply.
